BM sports is a pimple on the butt of an ant to Zimmer. Good luck during the integration boys.

Hate to tell you genius....but Sports has been a high growth area that Zimmer has been wanting to get into for some time. Biomet's SET has been exceeding expectations quarter after quarter...so, it WILL be an important area for Zimmer Biomet.

SET has exceeded expectations solely because the Extremity team carries the rest of Sports and Trauma. Don't kid yourself if you think otherwise; SET grew 7.9% in FY14, the majority of which from Extremities growth, followed by continued pull-through from Depuy's Trauma line. Whatever left that Sports contributed was honestly the result of one product manager that figured out how to convince reps to sell an allograft from a market (aseptic) that we had never sold within before. As in, it always looks like explosive growth when you go from selling zero units to selling a few - that's why you don't just blindly accept percentages thrown out by finance; rather, you should look at the products that are being released, their cadence, and the impact they have on the industry.

At least Trauma has D'Antonio and the Depuy line, all Sports has is Trippiedi - the worst thing to happen to that group.
