One year later and Canada being run by a new GM. (because only he had an MBA) It's all about education, not about work or field experience. Now they are advertising for a Snr Marketing position that requires an MBA. All others will be passed over since this is needed for the succession planning, of the latest GM....do you now understand ?

It's "anyway" and you only need one "?" at the end of a sentence. Illiterate people should not post here.

How do these area distributors function in Canada? They claim they're independant, but they employ full-time Stryker employees. They claim they can sell and distribute other products but they always seem to do it on the down low...?

So how smart is the GM, or the Pres, Murphy ? Stryker Canada has HR work the 'Best Employer " scam, yet receive their lowest ever internal Gallup employee scores.
People are leaving as never before, and they just lost/fired the Finance Dir and a Sales Director. And more changes to come ?
Sales off and not making budget, field reps disengaged, and losing market share in major product categories.

So, tell me again, how smart is the leadership is for Stryker Canada ?

It makes me laugh (or cry) that stryker always talks about how seriously thy take the q12. They should qualify that with "so long as the results are good..." If the results suck, they sweep it under the rug and pretend it never happened. That is the truth.

Was once a successful operating division for Stryker Corp. Changes started about 5 years ago, and the company has lost it's direction and culture.
Those making decisions have no experience.
Gallup surveys are no longer relevant.

I would agree. Have you ever noticed, too, that stryker seems more focused (because of the Gallup) on hiring "the most competitive people they can" and these ultra competitive people are the most insecure people around?! Stryker once hired confident people...winners. Not phony people that say they are winners. And it's obvious to everyone...but the people at Gallup. I think we've found the problem.

The guy above who said he worked in Canada and USA hopefully is not the friend of Mike Mogul from Denver. Not a truthful reference. He left Canada after really doing nothing and never committed to Canada--didn't even buy a home. Stryker has a North American management problem. Lot of Dead Wood AVP's in USA and now inexperience in Canada. Hard to drive business with poor leadership. USA charges customers a lot more than they do in Canada and the problem is a 3% device tax? Prices are a lot higher in the USA than most of the world--much higher. 3% tax is the cause of all of the problems and layoffs? People are not that dumb--are they?

Pain for Stryker Canada. Orders down, off budget. But same leadership ?
