This position has been open for quite a while now. Does anyone have any insight on this territory and/or the past rep. I'm currently based out of Chicago but interested in the position.

    Feedback much appreciated -- Thanks.

If its selling their E4D system I'd stay away. Old technology, a lot of returns and not many sales.

The ad mentions CAD/CAM numerous times, so I'm assuming it is very E4D oriented, along with DXR and software sales. Thanks for the response.

whoever said stay away if it says the position is for E4D is crazy. CAD/CAM technology is here to stay and is constantly evolving. ONly about 10% of dentists have adopted the technology which means a great opportunity is ahead. The current dental environment keeps changing and with all the managed care, PPO's etc. docs are looking for ways to save and cut their overhead down without comprimising on patient care and cad/cam is one of the options to help them get there.

The previous post is correct, CAD/CAM is here to stay. However, it has been speculated that the DTS position will soon be eliminated. Many current DTS reps are becoming CAD/CAM Specialists within the company and the Equipment Specialists can handle the remaining digital products.

Keep in mind Even though cad/cam is growing, the market is dominated by Cerec which has 18,000 users in the US versus about 800 E,4d customers. In terms of marketshare Cerec has about 95%. Selling against them is a tough proposition. Now they have a $79,999 complete cad/cam system as well as a sub $20k digital impression system that is poised to take a chunk of Iteros business. E4d is a small outdated player in this market. As far as I knew there was not even a dedicated sales force selling the e4D lime up.

Is Schein's stuff any good ? Is it saleable to Boobus Dentistus ?

I need a few bucks and some health insurance and don't want to work before 9:30 am or go to the branch very often and never attend vendor sales meetings - ever. Oh yeah, seldom co-travel with the numbskull cotton roll people unless they buy lunch and dinner and pay for parking and come with at least 2 pre-qualified leads - preferrably they both speak decent english, wear socks and shoes and do not smell too bad.

Think my attitude may be a problem ?
