Now that we have sold Ranbaxy what does it mean for future income in the US? It was a drain but it was purchased to take advantage of the generic market in the US. Those revenues will now go elsewhere.
"A century-old Japanese drug firm spent nearly $5 billion over five years ago to buy an Indian maker of generic medicines that was supposed to catapult it into the pharmaceutical industry's big leagues. Instead it has lost billions on a business with many products that have been blocked as unsafe by U.S. officials." WSJ I give this company 5 years TOPS!!!! BYE BYE DSI
This post is spot on. DSI now owns 9 % of SUN Pharma. This deal was great for DSI executives in Japan. However, this deal put the final nail in the coffin for DSI's sales-force.Sun Pharma now has the right to release generic Diovan which will put us out of business. From my perspective this company will be sold within the next year.
