True. But how does it end? When will people of upper management notice and execute?

How is it possible that the year is coming to an end and he and his gang of cronies still draw salaries? I guess the Peter Principle is proven correct once again.

As long as Hunter keeps pushing the idea that MRL should be doing "science that is good enough", the result will always continue to be half-ass experiments that do not allow for informed decisions. This guy continues to strive for mediocrity and is very successful at achieving his goal. Yet, this approach appears to be okay with most everyone responsible for this effort except those of us performing the work at the bench that recognize that improvements are readily obtainable. Voicing an opinion that is contrary to the group think is not tolerated and persists as key incompetency of this manager.

You are missing the context of "good enough". The goal is to send these assays to China. If they appear to be working "good enough" then Kenilworth cannot be held accountable when they fail.

You had your chance and failed. We had no choice but to go to china. The management team is great. No one but no one can do more with the complete idiot we have in R&D. It also is looking we are buying a pipeline. No need to spend money on those idiots anymore. Go MBA. They will save this company.

Well said. Agree the contrary opinion gives managers the opportunity to target the outspoken. Many examples of this in the organization. It's not just Hunter - many of his reports.

When will things change? Looks like the bullies will make it to 2015. Lets hope the reorganizers dig into the Ex Dir level. I will update my letter to Santa.

Truth can get you canned at Merck. Ask the ones who spoke up and given packages. Much damage done under this regime including the clean out specialist. Unbelievable this crap has continued this long.

Michael Kress and Chris Hill will also be my top list. Both are arrogant and incompetent, are destroying the chemistry at Merck, right now...

That is the most incompetent semi quasi ass I have ever had the mispleasure of knowing. His savior was Tyronius Rex another axed loser

I would say Bob Murphy is the most incompetent. The only thing he is good at is acting. He can control his volume, tone and inflection to match the crowd. He keeps an onion in his pocket for the sad stories. He has a family member who has benefitted from every drug Merck has ever made.

I was sitting at a lunch with him a few months ago and most at the table were African American. He changed his dialect from upper Philly to lower Southside Chicago in less than a second. Not only can white men not jump, they can't jive either.

And you can't speak up without becoming an outcast. Speechless knowing the VP and EX Dir changes are on hold/ temporary. What is taking Joe this long? The more time fools are here the more damage.....

Very true my friend. Send 'em back. How were they placed in charge? The lack of scientific intellect is mind blowing. Pharm is a disgrace filled with a few phony leaders who are smiling robots too scared to speak up. This could be beyond repair because Joe is taking his good old time making decisions. I haven't seen the reputation come to life and wonder if he is here to just let the place burn to the ground. So many good assays/models are not either outsourced to inconsistent labs with longer turnaround at great cost or just closed out.

Good start as long as it continues at least one level down to the Ex Dir. The protected elite carry out orders and evolved without a spine.

Finally someone I totally agree with. Please tell me when Ken's tenure is due to be over. This is the first time in 25 years I do not like working at Merck. Can we bring back Vagelos?
