more luck than wisdom. 1980s marketeer, did not adapt to today's pharma world. not in it for the patients, but indeed smart with his bank account.

Wow. Hard to believe that Alexion's new CEO has an academic background that consists solely of a BA in psychology. He has had an incredible rise over the years since I knew him as a colleague in former job with an earlier employer. I am frankly stunned at where he has risen to. Not a bad person, but seems to me is is in over his head.

Pure luck. He knows it too. Super sized ego to overcompensate his lack of experience and education. We are going down

Lucky at Amgen. Right personality of charisma to over come general lack of the actual knowledge of how drug works ,at least LB was an MD. To give him credit he rolled the dice to come to a little pharma and rode the wave right to the top. Made out nice. Only experience he has is shoe leather on the street like rest of us carrying the bag. His favorite go to phrase to mean experience. He has been successful cause it's a rare disease and we have the only txt anywhere and oh by the way its the most expensive yearly treatment in the world and its for life. It's like having the recipe for the secret sauce.

The last year was DHs real rise. He is appointed to board. Max di es. Dr LB takes over board chair. and DH moves into LB seat as CEO. Like a waltz. It was scripted like a movie.

He is in over his head now. With two novices reporting to him. They bring JM back because he could run Turkey. Yes Turkey healthcare is just like the US market. Look it up. And MO is brought out of marketing to run sales force. And marketing knows sales just like turkey leads healthcare. They randomly bring sales inside to key positions inside with zero experience -it usually a low producer but if you can carry the bag and sell to three doctors you can run marketing for sure. People are promoted within 6 months. Everyone US a Sr Dir of something or another. No clue what they are doing. Much yelling screaming finger pointing. And 6 months later. Running another dept.
It's a house of cards & moving staircases run by inexperienced newbies. (As least in the roles that hold) mistakes are made and next round is brought in.
That is the DH business model.

So out of touch with US market now. Left MO and JM at home to mind the store front. Nothing but " stops" since. Lost the chemistry that lit the Fire.

DH has brought Alexion from NOTHING to one of the MOST admired biotech companies in the world. With LB's scientific acumen and DH's sheer brilliance the company is where it's at! (PERIOD)

Yes and No. I have been with company since initial launch of first indication when we had less than 20 reps 2MSLs 1 National Acct Mrg and 5 in house nurses. I can't remember if DH joined us right before or right after launch. But it was close to launch so he was still at Amgen during the "start up" heavy lifting. he had been brilliant for whole first launch. Give you that. Merciless slick showman slave master but made us a bundle.
But of course he was selling lightening in a bottle. We had liquid gold: Only treatment for a deadly disease that you have to take IV every other week for rest of life. And we control manufacturing & distribution (shipping as well as only allowing one dose at time to ship so our "nurses" can track all missed doses and hound patients back to MD office = compliance = keep selling. ) Now there is the real success of the first launch. We know where every vial is. If the patient misses an appointment we call and " educate them " back on schedule. And oh by the way since we are only show in town we charge half a mill a year for treatment. But most showmen can manage a success

Second indication is a dud. As said repeatedly here. Half of starts stop.
Even he can't make a silk purse out of a cow's ear
Who knows where the pipeline is. We ask. ....crickets
Founding Fathers are all gone (LB SS)
Since we have grown. Since second indication He has done nothing in US
Global is another story. That is what keeps him where he is. US is hurting
Show me US growth since second launch .....yep. those crickets again....
