Why do we have two separate salesforces calling on surgeons and hospitals at the same time? The Institutional Sales team could easily sell Thrombin-JMI as well. This is about as inefficient as the government.

Do the decision-makers not talk to one another?

IS, no offense, but your call points, with the exception of pharmacy, are completely different form TJMI/Gelfoam reps. Not only do we call on pharmacy, but also materials, surgeons, techs, charge nurses on various floors, and actually go into surgeries to ensure that our products are being used correctly. A conversion can take many months and sometimes years for us to pull-through, and the competition with Thrombin is ferocious.
TJMI is not a blockbuster, and frankly any additions to our sale's force is just a financially viable option at this time.

That is very nice of you to try to save IS. I am sorry you are so desperate to safe the sinking IS ship. Best wishes to you all.

No offense to you, but IS used to also go into multiple hospital depts., including cathe lab, sicu, micu, unit nurses in more dept.s than you could imagine. Plus IS (Wyeth) has been calling on surgeons since the inception of their hospital division. I know it must take real skill calling on materials mgmt., but I think IS has the skills to accomplish. Just FYI, Thrombin would fit it exceptionally well as another product line into the IS force, and since it is around 100mil dollar product, how does this company justify the expense of such a small hospital force (that is not financially viable in net profit margine vs. expenses) when IS brings over a billion in revenue with its product lines.

Materials Management calls on you too for RepTrax violations too? Same here. That's a call! Check. Box.

The elephant in the room is Zyvox goes generic in less than two years.

Anything coming from the mighty and powerful R&D site ? (HA!)
This originated with Pharmacia long ago ...how about some home grown fruits and vegetables for once, given the billions $ poured into hype and trash talk.?
Everyone is always crying and weeping when "we lose our patent"........hmmmmmmm?

The Thrombin reps. don't have much to show for either. A couple of rinky dinky products barely generating a 100mil or less a piece. They are hoping for another product to keep them viable just like IS.

A good hospital rep should know all aspects and depts of the hospital. We use to have the full product line and were responsible for calling on all from materials management to chief of services

Business as Usual until you are all toast!! They tell you to focus on the business at hand so you can be told goodbye when you least expect it!
You are toast! At least 30% of IS will be gone. Who knows foR vaccine.

Do you think that going into surgeries makes you special? Anyone can learn the operating room aspect. We, IS, already call on the surgeons. The surgeons call the shots anyway. A conversion of any product can take months or years. IS calls on charge nurses for Zyvox in-services anyway.

The primary thought here is to do away with the old King sales force and have Thrombin-JMI absorbed into IS. This is not a difficult concept to grasp.

It would make too much sense, which means that it will never happen.

LOL...LOL... I love the IS reps saying it could take years to get a product on formulary, this is the exact reason you (IS reps) need to go.

PFZ needs to thin out the IS herd asap.
