there must be a lot of guilt collecting a paycheck here.

    Your welcome.
We all know managers do nothing all day by now.

At least the reps have to face the doctors everyday with an embarrassing product, so they deserve every penny.

My manager plays golf 2-3 days a week, calls me half lit to act like he's coaching me and then counts it as a field ride. True field ride consists of a 2 hr lunch and then he goes home. These mgr's have it made......

Its funny how everything is backwards in pharmaceutical sales and in most companies. The reps are the ones doing all the work, yet get paid the least.

In a highly technical sell like pharmaceuticals, you don't need these micromanagers, because the majority of the reps are smart and have experience.

The only situation where a manager is relevant is if you have sales reps coming out of college or are new to selling or new to the industry.

This is not the case today, as there is a lot of talent without work.

Technical? Really. I dare say at this level, you can get away without technical knowledge for about 80% of these customers. Its catering, brown nosing, persistence, relationships, samples and now more than ever, luck. When you are dealing with specialists and hospitals, technical knowledge becomes a lot more important. For what its worth, managers are pretty useless at this level as they facilitate just about nothing. An mbo plan reviewed quarterly by an administrator could probably manage over 100 reps efficiently.

So, if you're so damn smart, become a manager, increase your pay and decrease your work !? Right? Isn't this your point? Then you are A) full of shit! Or B)A complete coward scared of her own shadow, Or, C) you know managers have a hell of a job coaching a pack of self- interested and spoiled little bitches just waiting for him to make a mistake do they can go crying to HR! A,B or C Bitch!

    A. I am telling the truth, and you know it, which is why you got so upset. I am on vacation, but you are probably on work hours and posting here so it proves my point.

    B. I choose not to get into management because it is the ultimate "yes man" job and I am not a "yes man". In field sales, there is fun competition and more joy in helping your customers. Also, I feel like I am earning my money because its hard work, unlike being a slob manager that brings no value to an experienced rep like me. I am not totally bashing you for being a manager, but you only bring value when there is a rookie rep you are coaching.

    C. EVERYONE knows by now to NEVER go to HR for anything, so I am not sure why you brought this up, other than the fact that you are not very good as a manager and probably had a few complaints for being a jerk?

Have a good day in your air conditioned office, approving expense reports and making sure your reps got a signature every hour last week.

I completely agree with the previous post! Managers are completely USELESS at this point in time with Iroko! ...And crying to HR?!? Seriously?!?!?! As far as I know we're still "inVentiv CSO's".... There's really no HR Dept. for us!! If Iroko DM's haven't figured this out by now, they're certainly as mind-numbingly stupid as the fine particle technology they so much worship!!

Outright fraud, plain and simple. MicroStrategy gives us a good view of a drs payer mix. This is mismanagement of pts by the Dr and bs on the reps part. Managers who encouraged this behavior are just as culpable. We will see what the fallout is next week and how many weekly leaders NEVER show up on the board again!!!
