What a Shame

I spent many years with KCI and was very proud of the outcomes that wound vac therapy has offered to patients. I have had patients say this machine has saved my life. Things have changed and it's all about money which I understand coming from a business owner background. I just feel some patients will not recieve the same care as before. It was very nice to work in the Dr. Jim era, he really cared about outcomes and people. It's quite a sad time. A dedicated KCI employee

Worked here for many years now, all of them good actually. This place was GREAT in the early years. So proud to be employed by KCI, the hours were tough as many of you know but there was lots of job satisfaction. Now I have not felt that for a few years.
What's happened here is truly disgusting. It's like working for a For Profit hospital. They skimp here there and everywhere, just to save a nickel. Anyone that is intelligent enough to get the big picture knows in hindsight that it actually costs more, for crap, in the end. Sigh....

Agreed. It appears there is no long term vision or concern. When a company does not practice what they preach this usually affects all outcomes.

Dr. Jim was just as greedy and Cathy B and only fools believed in their lies.

I agree with the post. Dr. Jim fooled everyone and Cathy was icing on the cake.

just got laid off after 6 years of success. This company took a 360 in 6 months. I was lucky to get some severance and have a job in medical device available (friend). The pay will not be comparable but at least I am removed from this toxic environment.

What position are you in? What is the severence package? When is the day they are letting you go? When did the manager find out who go and who stays? Please share with us

Ummm, if the company took a 360 wouldn't they be heading in the same direction?? I'd say a 180 would be a turn for the worst.

Outcomes of patients has always been my focus and it has been very satisfying,I can get beyond the children who post useless stupid comments on this sight. I just would like some info about my future , thats all.

I think we have to make our own future. We can't wait on Apax to make it for us. I had a miserable existence weeks ago and then I decided to take matters into my own hands. I feel much better. I can feel a job offer coming the end of July. If Apax keeps me then I will have a decision to make. Trust me and take control of your life and it will help during this difficult time. At least you will have a choice.
