How many BMS Oncology reps will be moving to Merck with their upcoming expansion? At least 25% of sales force is interviewing.

Merck has 1 -2 reps per smaller territory. Nice! Compared to Bms large matrix team. Bms oncology never will understand this concept.

The smart thing to do is to change companies every few years to get the higher salaries. Stay with one company for too long and you will soon find yourself on the bottom of the pay scale

Merck is a one trick pony with a one-product pipeline. If it doesn't work out you can expect a 40% oncology sales force reduction in a few years as was done a couple years ago. They have the prestigious #1 spot for number of reps cut over the last several years. Their oncology pipeline pales in comparison to BMS. Do some comparative research and you will see for yourself!

What you say sound reasonable but it's really not about a pipeline for me. BMS has had their share of layoffs as well but honestly ( like one other post above) you have to be a putz to stay long enough for that to matter. Over a career you can make 100s of thousands of dollars more by jumping around. Just ask around here and you will find that longevity, dedication and trust has not been rewarded. The highest paid reps are the new reps recently hired. You can come here and tell them anything and they can't check fir accuracy. 10 best performers in a row, master rep, sls, executive status..... They can't check and are willing to pay for the bullshit. Any doubt? They pay for iplan data management don't they?

Good luck working in Merck's toxic environment. Their leadership stinks, starting at the top and moving downward. Merck is a dying entity.

This post is spot on...from a former Merkie who has fewer and fewer friends there due to layoffs. They are horrible to their employees. Joining Merck is like getting on the Titanic knowing it would hit an iceberg.

And BMS is utopia? Mirror images of one another.

Hardly mirror images. Merck is hoping to be a one hit wonder with its oncology drug. What do they have besides that? Declining sales on nearly all of its products. I won't mention the varmints in their run-down, vacated buildings.

keep me posted on talent we lose to merck. seems like a great decision in light of the market place.

You're clueless. Both companies and their employees live in the past.

Yes they are. Both companies are full of old, lazy people that live in the past. You're a loser if you work at either of these companies.
