    Hi-
Just started with PFE and want to keep my properly permited gun with me, especially after the murder of the Pfizer rep in California while he was on the job.

What is the official policy on this and where can I find it?

    Thanks. Serious replies only.

The policy is in the training with Wheels. As I understand it, you CANNOT have a gun in your company car during work hours. Only nights and weekends. This does not matter whether you have a proper permit or not.

so, if you have a territory in the hood you are not allowed to protect yourself even if you comply with state and federal gun laws?

Betcha that Cali rep wished he had a gun as he stared into the barrel of assailants gun before he was gunned down.

Dumb question. If the firearm is concealed, who will know except you. This is where you beg for forgiveness vs. ask for permission. If you're this dumb and carrying a gun, you are not responsible.

Easy now. The man is simply trying to figure out whether or not he's permitted to carry so he DOES"NT have to ask for forgiveness.

I would not think of this as something for which you can ask "forgiveness". When I have spoken to DMs about this, they take it very seriously. It is the kind of infraction that will get you fired.

chose: a. fired by pfizer, or b. inability to defend your life and/or loved ones. there is no way this immoral company makes that choice for me.

So Let me get this straight:

You already have one rep gunned down in the field,

Pfizer requires some reps to go into dangerous areas for their job,

and someone at a vehicle leasing company called "Wheels" says you cannot not defend yourself, even if you comply with all laws, or you get fired ?

    Liberals run this company.

Just drive your own car and pack heat. I work in one of the worst ghettos in the 5 state area I live in and I have an elaborate anti theft system in my car along with a side arm which I am licensed to carry in my state.

You can get "Pfired" for using your own car for work. I kid you not.

People have a choice to lease/buy their own car rather than take a company vehicle.

a concealed permit and carrying a firearm in a vehicle are apples and oranges. the vehicle is an extension of one's home. carry on one's person is entirely different. the thread starter is the kind of person who goes looking for problems instead of using a little common sense and keeping quiet.

Agreed. And why would he post on CP unless he was trying to start a debate?

The only way Pfizer will know is if you actually need it. Would you guve a shit if they knew if them knowing meant that you possibly saved your own life or someone else's.

He's a troll. He's also posting at the exact same time on the Novo site with the same stuff.

No he's not. It was similarly asked on 4-28-2013. Almost a year prior to this thread. http://www.cafepharma.com/boards/showthread.php?t=530125

This is an extremely important, life or death, question. Do not dismiss this so lightly because you think it's a troll. Your lies makes me think you're the troll distracting from the truths about self defense and our jobs.

Pfizer has the lawful right to fire us if we break a rule. Unless your state has laws protecting your 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms that is right on point with trumping a private employer's rules, then Pfizer can legally fire you.

Now if you're actually stupid enough to disarm yourself because of the infinitesimal chance of being found in possession of a firearm in your company car, then you are an absolute imbecile, IMO.

It should be treated as "don't ask, don't tell". Pfizer doesn't want the potential liability of your ever using a firearm while on the job, so they made this rule up, but it's doubtful they could escape liability anyway. So, the rule is for those idiots dumb enough to follow it and not carry a gun in their company cars. If you are that dumb, then you shouldn't be carrying a gun in the first place.

The other reason for the rule is for public relations reasons. Pfizer does not want to look like it's pro-gun because the anti-gun nuts are crazy radicals who will make Pfizer's world a living hell. Pfizer knows the pro 2nd amendment people are not radical and no harm will come to Pfizer.

I recall the rule forbidding carrying a firearm in the company car. It didn't distinguish when, so I interpreted it as always. However, you can choose to drive your own car, but Pfizer may consider that your company car if you are doing Pfizer business at the time you are found to be in possession of a firearm by Pfizer. It's vague, but you likely have no leg to stand on if you live in an at-will state and Pfizer fires you, even if they are wrong in their interpretation of their own rules.

I hope this answers your question, OP?

I got limo tint in the company car so no one rolls up on me when I am masturbating to get rid of my excess Viagra sample inventory overage and about to get ganked by some maricon in the brotherhood.

You are a liar. You are the same person posing as a Novo Nordisk rep asking the exact same question. If you're so strong in your beliefs, why do you have to resort to trickery?

Same guy posting the same question at Novo Nordisk site, almost on the exact same days. OP doesn't have a question, OP wants to make a point. go ahead, look at Novo's site, and check the date of his posts.

DMs take everything seriously. Carry it except on days when he works with you. If you have to use it and get fired? Better off fired than dead.

Whose going to know? If stopped and you have proper papers, you're let go and no one knows.
