I was recently offered this position. Initially I was excited but Ive read reviews that all I do is clean instruments and Im basically the OR bitch. Can someone help me out and actually tell me the details of the job and if there is even room for advancement after a year or two. Thanks

there can be. Don't expect to go into sales though. That tends to be the pitch that Procare techs are offered. If you dont have OR experience, or do poorly on the Gallup, its a great way to get into medical device

You're correct- the hospital staff will consider you their bitch, long hours, cleaning equipment, and low pay. Previous poster was correct, don't think this will land you a real sales job

Do not take this position if you want to get into sales...grunt position, 40-45K a year, no upward mobility.

There's a lot of opportunities out there with better pay and career trajectory. Keep your eyes open. If you take this job, work for 1 or 2 years, and look for another company.

If you are early career do yourself a favor and get some B2B experience, this will set you up for a better gig down the line. The ProCare tech position is a great way to waste a year or two while getting treated like trash.
