Am I the only one who feels that PRM process suffocates innovation at Alcon?

Nope. The purpose of PRM is to choose from options presented by the core teams, NOT to direct the project or set project timelines. This is of course if the R&D Plus model is followed which it obviously is not. Just like project heads and Core Team members are supposed to take direction from the sub teams NOT tell them what to do, how to do it, and their deadlines. This current system is really f'd up because older Alcon management is used to micro managing everything which stifles new ways of thinking. Hurry up to wait, as they say!

LF is sitting on their hands. No new projects were able to get through PRM this year, but two tiny ones. After multiple attempts people are just giving up and leaving. PRM system requires elaborate scientific backup of the project, but the system provides no funds to build it.

Hundreds of hours spent preparing presentations that go no where. Just given some bs excuse of why to come back again. If you can't fund anything just say it. If you don't have the balls to make a decision move on and get out of here, you are killing our pipeline.

Competition is catching up, while our PRM blocks every idea. It seems that all the pipeline will come through M&A now. And we will be left to fix the startup crap they bought.

Jeff needs to secretly watch just one PRM meeting to see where the problem is.
