    The sad thing is that if you stayed in that office for a week, you'd see at least two other reps from the same company doing the exact same thing, and probably with the same results: waiting around an office for 20-40 minutes in the hopes of getting a signature that "proves" that we pitched our product to a target physician.

    Pharma HQ are well aware that the great majority of calls are fake, but its to their benefit to keep up the charade. If we don't need so many reps, we lose middle managers. We lose middle managers, we don't need so many exec-level sales managers. On and on it goes. So, everyone plays the game of pretending that we actually sell like we did in the early to mid 90s. BTW, its even worse with managed markets. Those jokers have the ideal lifestyle!

    Exactly how is "managed markets" defined?
