PF is in the CIA so it is unassailable

I saw this in another thread and had to respond.

I GET the concept that the company had to respond to the OIG with something pretty stunning to allow us to continue participating in federal programs.

I GET the theory behind removing reps from the incentive compensation method previously utilized and start a different paradigm.

I GET that management had to get fully behind the implementation of PF for it to stick and become part of our culture.

    BUT:

I DON'T GET why something so sacrosanct as rep ranking was left completely NAKED by PF. Why something that was ultimately going to be used to escort people out of the company (3 NOT PROFICIENTS) was allowed to be determined by UNPROCTORED TESTS which allowed..no, FOSTERED CHEATING. Even if only 10% cheated enough to get a proficient score, that meant that some honest reps were left out to dry. I think we all know it is more than 10%.

I DO GET why they will NEVER HAVE PROCTORED TESTS...Because in implementing proctors, they would be admitting that cheating is a problem, which would open the door for mucho lawsuits.

Put me and all the reps in a room with a proctor and a test us. I really like my chances of being AT LEAST proficient.

I DON'T GET a model that has reps AVOIDING PROMOTIONS. I know SEVERAL 9s that will NEVER want to be promoted. They are making bank.

FLL: I want to promote you to an 8. You are in the top 10% of your tests and
    Exemplary in your COTS. CONGRATS!

9: Well, thanks, but I like it here as a 9. If I get promoted, I wont make as
    much money. I will stay a 9.

    Good luck to you all

As long as this stupid IC system is going on at GSK you are going to get a lot of posts from a lot of field people

No, just lots of post from you repeating the same thing, just like you have been doing yet again today.

translation: once again I cannot defend any part of PF with a fact so I will accuse people of posting a lot.

-funny how this individual is obviously the biggest poster to this site but cannot do anything but call people names, accuse them of posting too much, or use the crybaby line

either this person is a fake and just wants to stir it up here to sell ads, is part of the PF nazi brigade, or has a mental illness because they NEVER have and NEVER will use one piece of factual evidence to support why PF is a good idea and is not a failure

Post #1 nailed it. Tests should be proctored.

I know now that you are a company-hired wanker. I have not posted in at least a month. I was let go for 3 not proficients. I would insult you more, but that is what you want, so that you can attempt to completely derail the thread.

This company is going to have continued big trouble with the current PF system. More tenured, experienced, older reps with great customer relationships that don't have the stomach to cheat will be removed from the company one by one. You will be left with lots of young inexperienced reps that think they can get by with PIs taped to their leg during assessments and simulations. And, obviously, people who thrive in PF without cheating. Does that mean they are good reps?

I can't help but be relieved that I don't have to deal with PF and all that it entails anymore, but I do fear the unknown of how to land a job with the last 4 years of PF to discuss with prospective employers.

If you are unhappy at GSK, I won't say go visit the EEOC office nearest you. I won't say go file a class action lawsuit. I will say stomach PF as long as you can and develop an escape route.

    I'm out.

We should start gathering anecdotes about this whole mess and go to FiercePharma for "publication". I started in the days when seemingly everyone carried a bag with 2 or 3 biggies: ACEs, ARBs, broad-spectrum antibiotics, CCBs, SSRIs, PPIs….
It was purely Darwinian, especially if you sold in a hospital setting where P&T Committee decisions could make or break your quota attainment for 2 or 3 consecutive years. No (or maybe one) partner/colleague/counterpart sold with you, so if you weren't able to get people to write for you in a year or so, you would be on a PIP in year 2, and gone by year 3. Period.

To go from that type of world to what is going on now is surreal. Even though our sales prop up the company, I for one wish there was a forum where we could have a say in PF and the tests and sims and rankings, etc.
