I can name several that got interviews. They didn't get hired foor the position so maybe you're half right. However give Mark R an interview and he'll blow away the compatition if the next POA were in Vegas I would bet the RANCH!

The decision for RBD and AVP should never come down to a series of interviews. This is a marriage, not a freakin' dinner date!

Take a page from other industries or the military. Oh, I forgot, our industry is too cocky to do that.

I think its time the 2 people praising Mark stop repeatedly posting. If he's truly that 'popular' then he's never had to make a difficult decision holding people accountable in which they lost their job. Sounds like he's running the same 'Hope' campaign Obama ran in 2012.

Time to move the discussion on to someone who's truly qualified.

Nice retort! They're both black, so Mark probably isn't qualified, just like Obama wasn't qualified….I see what you're doing here.

I was just going to post that Idi Amin was black and look at how HIS reign turned out!

Thanks for beating me to the punch.

It wasn't a racial comment... It could've been Joe Biden's 'Hope' campaign for all I care. It's about be qualified, and he isn't.

He definitely has the support of more than 2 people. In advertising 1= 1,000. You seem to be much better at running your mouth than you are at evaluating talent. What do you have against Obama other than he's a socialist. Either way he WON! If we had Mark as an RBD everybody wins. Including you!

Why because you say so? Do you have anymore salt to throw or are you out? Don't hate the player hate the game. You obviously do not know Mark so stop trying to speak from a position of authority when you have none. He's by far the best candidate. I'm pleased that it's not your decision to make. Myo is gone get over it. Don't worry you can follow him on his next mission.

What does color have to do with anything? That is not the enviroment at Novo you're probably a new hire from another company or a crony from our ex RBD. Is the man qualified? Yes! Can he do the job? Yes! His skin color has nothing to do with it. I'm really hoping he gets an opportunity just to prove you and the haters wrong

No he has proven that you can hold people accountable without having more the 50 HR claims against you, You don't have to be an ass to be a leader. Tony Dungy has proven that and many others. You can call our ex boss whatever you want he's just not Mark R and is not QUALIFIED to be

Actually Novo did "take a page from the military" when they brought on the previous RBD (MYOT). His whole doctrine was to run the So Cal region like the military where he learned all of his "unbelievable" leadership skills.

He sold Novo on his leadership approach during his "series of interviews" with the company. Unlike M Rahming who has been "married" to Novo for a long time now and has always performed and done an outstanding job. His track record of successful leadership would trump any "series of interviews or dinner dates" ever.

Agreed he's definetley the right person for the job. He will do things the right way, the Novo way. Make the west a great place to work while making our numbers and developing people. He's a great leader and someone committed to excellence. My prediction is if he gets the chance to interview he will get the job. He has earned the opportunity. More importantly he will bring that atmosphere back to the west the you have to earn it mentality.

Just because the former RBD was FROM the military does not mean that we took a page from the military's time tested leadership selection & development methods. We did it the cheap & easy way, the way we've done it so many other times: after a storm (massive pharma downsizing) we waited by the sewage drain and waited for discarded RMs and VPs and RFTs from other companies to float by. And then we grabbed one before they went through the grate.

I don't know Mark well, so I certainly am not qualified to comment on whether he's best candidate. Shoot, the only possible way to say that with any credibility is if I was privy to each and every candidate out there….

All I know is that I stand by my earlier comment. Too often when there's an opening here, we just grab up someone connected to our SVPs and AVPs from their previous pharma gig.

Can I be the first person to say that Marc is not all that smart?!

He's not that successful, smart, or a good leader. He is a nice guy, but not a leader

Yes you can be the first to say it and the only one to say it. Mark won COE last year how many have you won? It's obvious that you have a candidate in mind so speak up. Mark has earned the opportunity, far more than you have to critque his abilities.

Didn't everyone win COE in Cali last year? A repeat of Illinois back in 2007 or 2008. Amazing what happens with the right MMS wins and not the Green Reports and pharmacy calls that Cali leadership were touting to show they finally cracked the code on how to sell.

Regardless of what you're trying to do here, I'm pretty sure the grassroots efforts to support Mark will not have any effect on anything. I'll make this as clear as I can: He is NOT a candidate for this RBD job. Go ahead and support him all you want, but he will not be the next RBD in So Cal.

How many internal candidates do we have that qualify and are interested?

You still have to go out and contribute. He has won multiple awards so what is your excuse for the others?
Who do you support? It's funny how people try to minimize COE awards they are usually people that have not won anything. The ones that have won know how difficult it can be to obtain. I agree with your analogy of past leadership he was always interested in promoting himself. His famous words "I am not going anywhere people" His loss coud be our gain if we bring in the right person. That person is Mark R. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. In this case I must emphasize your opinion is quite frankly WRONG! Your compass is OFF. You have not produced a better candidate which I understand why because there is not one.
