What happens to my cell phone when I resign?

What happens to our cell phones when we quit? I can't remember if Pfizer bought it or not. I know I paid for the replacement when it broke. Also, the plan is in my name, right? Do I have to continue with the Verizon plan, even though it's been controlled by Pfizer? Or, can I terminate the plan? Any help is greatly appreciated.

a lot of questions that can't be answered easily.

If it's a company phone, the person who checks you out will take it. If it's your phone they won't. In both situations Pfizer will wipe your phone. When you downloaded Pfizer's software/accepted reimbursement you gave them access to your phone. So I'd recommend backing your phone up on a computer or via the cloud to protect your contacts.

If you've been on the plan long enough you can cancel the plan. If not, you'll be responsible for the cancelation fees. But you may want to keep your departure quiet since Verizon or whomever you use gives you a 22% discount on cell service and equipment.

The process is painless if you back things up, not so much if you don't. Remember, Pfizer is a machine so it's nothing personal.

Good luck with your future! Find something that brings you joy and pride. Life is short, play hard.

Look at your bill and find out if its company or personal - or even call Verizon and ask about switching to a family plan or something different. If they tell you can't make changes to your account, it's probably their phone. MORE IMPORTANTLY it is also their phone number. You WILL lose it permanently if you leave the company. If it's a personal account, the number stays yours.

When I resigned,( with a Pfizer owned phone), I was able to keep my iPhone. Policy is if it is approved by your manager, you may transfer into your name. We had a separate Verizon account and are paying to add it to that. I was on a month to month acct c Pfizer account, so you could have to pay til the end of a contract. Best Wishes:)

A couple of years ago when I was let go I threw the phone in the ocean. Very cathartic. Skipped across the water like a stone!!!
