Turn off the BB. You shouldn't be distracted as a driver. I turn mine on 8, 12 and 5. Then off promptly.

Go to options - GPS and turn if off. Turn off maps too

FYI, they aren't tracking you. Your DBM has all he needs in iQUE to find out if you are working.

Just to let you know, if it is a verizon system, a signal is sent every 7 seconds to the tower even with the phone turned off. You must take out the battery.

    I'm in the security industry.
Tracking software can be on your cell phone and you would NEVER know it and most employers are using it now. You can't search for it, there is no icon for it. The only clue you would have is that if occasionally the phone lights up when it doesn't ring. That indicates it is transmitting data. The back light just comes on for no reason. There is no way to prevent this. Always keep your phone in view and see if it occasionally lights up when not in use.

It keeps track of everything. What number you called, how long you were on the phone, what number called you, missed calls, the actual TEXT of text messages sent and received even if they are deleted from the phone. photos and videos made with the phone and the GPS coordinates of where the phone has been. Contacts, new contacts added, things in the calendar, websites gone to..when and how long the phone was turned off...Spouses buy the software to spy on cheating spouses all the time.... and they never know it's there until they get served with divorce papers. There are other kinds that transmit the data via text message but it leave the message in the sent box and easily caught if they clear the sent box. I don't recommend that software to clients.

An employer has every right to track you on their own equipment. That is why they are issuing phones instead of reimbursing for them. They can also put GPS on the car if they own it. All the more reason to take the monthly reimbursement instead of the company car. It is illegal to GPS a car that you don't own. Technically, they are GPS's their PHONE and their car and not you personally, so it's legal. It is even illegal for a PI to put GPS on your car, only the police can GPS a car and a cop won't GPS a car to see if you are not working.

    Take care, someone is watching.

As a manager, I know when one of my peeps isn't working. The numbers usually show it. The GPS devices are there to help me pretty up the paperwork. For those who can't read between the lines....prove you are not where you say you are to can your lazy a$$ for NOT doing what you are paid to do. Gig is up guys. Just do your job and you have nothing to fear except what is happening to the industry itself.

To the jackass as mean manager from the last post. Listen my man this job has become a 10-2 job not a 9-5 job like it use to be under your dinosaur regime. This is not a sales job anymore it is all about building relationships and selling them to your doctors douchbag. Good luck when you are replaced by a contract sales manager.

With a colleague like you, who needs enemies, however you speak the truth. That is why we are going to get about 1/2 the pay we used to get because this is truly a 4 hour a day job and that is all we are working. You said it first!

Managers are the ones who need GPS tracked. 1-2 calls and then "take me back to the hotel". My 24 hour porno pass is about to expire before I check out and and then I need hit the road to get back to the wife and kids.

Let's track you....when you meet me at noon because you had a conference call all morning.....or leave at 2:30 for same...who are you kidding?

Friday....home mowing lawn am, golf pm

Managers are the laziest bunch of assholes on this earth. Glorified secretaries/babysitters.
You lazy bastards are the ones who need tracking....or firing.

Stick your tracking up your ass...and you still couldn't find it.

Dude, seriously, "The numbers show it". Puhleeze. Numbers in this industry reflect very little on a persons sales abilities. This is glorified delivery driver job. You are a joke.

Pfizer IMS data is a scam.

IMS collects 3% of the data, the other 97% is extrapolated from that 3% (similar to the Walmart zap factor).

Surprised there are no class-action lawsuits from reps against IMS yet. What an idea!

For what? How stupid are you? What would reps sue IMS for? I cannot wait to hear this answer.

Yet when layoff time comes people are up in arms that the "top performers" were let go....can't have it both ways.

I never understood the quota system of compensation when the quotas adjust quarterly (or whenever they want to adjust them really). If they want to incentive reps to try and move business then our bonuses should be based strictly on market share growth. That takes into account all the stupid variables like docs on vacation or a high writing doc moving and essentially measures your ability to grow your product's usage vs. the market usage.....it's not perfect but it's way better than a quarterly quota system based on scripts.
