Whether for poor performance, too long with company, too high of a salary, wrong demographic group or just a pain in the ass, Merck got rid of you for a reason. They don't hire back. At least for a few years. Look for something else. This company is shit anyway.

I know at least 6 people who WERE hired back after a layoff and just a short time later....they made it through this new cut too!!

We all know some people were cut needlessly.....wrongly is term being used.
Instill hope for those who didn't deserve to be cut!

Don't be as crappy as the person, manager or system who locked in the names...

Some of the CTLs think they'll get back when click their heels.

Our manager is so super sure he'll be placed. Almost like a free vacation for ctls with his sureness.

Reps are not so charmed...they're interviewing against each other. The displaced, the miserable, the insiders and the outsiders. Brutal competition! Best candidate wins..Hopin so!

Are the displaced on hold or delay for rehire? Hearing things like placed people who just want to move getting changed before displaced get a job. Is this so?

Some of the displaced are being brought back. One in our district where a quitter just walked away! I hear it happens every wipe out season.

Think portal rights were all for show.
Applications for cuts going in the bottomless pit.
    Seems so.
    Hmm.

Not a good thing...heard last time around replacement jobs were starting around now.

Getting paid to leave was the best thing to happen. Anyone who's stupid enough to try and stay deserves what they have coming. It's a toxic environment. Only the weak would want to come back.

Not everyone has the leisure of time and money to find work....its called urgency.

People better start thinking about rethinking this strategy. Merck does not give a sh _ _ about their employees. You would be far better looking elsewhere.

Who cares what Merck management thinks. Everyone knows that the RD's have their favorites and they keep those sales rep's. You know the ones that kiss their butts. Managers hardly ever go against their wishes. They do not have strong management skills to see who the strong sales people are. They just go with the flow so as to not upset their own situations. Pathetic!

Really pathetic when RDs are new and have no solid knowledge of the reps. In these cases the managers have a big responsibility to inform the RDs about the reps. Without the input a rep can get screwed and big time.
