    Nephron,

You are truly one of the weirdest companies in the world. Your owner funded you through his ex wife. He built it with an amazing team that made it very successful. Then he drove most of them away by making it impossible to work there. In turn he went through several dozens of managers. None of which could put up with the stress. The same goes for the marketing team. Now you are run by his new wife. Sadly she is no more qualified to run a McDonalds than she is to run a company making in excess of 53 mill in sales. There are many hardworking individuals working for you both in sales and in manufacturing. They are paid well. The rest are not. And that will be your demise. You cannot expect to be successful without happy employees and I don't think that the company as a whole is a happy place. By reading these posts everyone can see the level of happiness. And the vindictiveness of the people who claim they are happy. Sorry Nephron but I only give you 3-5 years before you cave in on yourself.

    LG

First, you have no idea how this company was formed, you should do your research before you post something that's simply not correct. Secondly, this company isn't responsible for anyone's "happiness", they are responsible for employing and growing market share...that's what successful companies do. If employees are unhappy on the job, then they should most definitely voice that concern...not hide behind cafe pharma. If the concern has been voiced and it's still a problem and you just can't work here or deal with the stress...don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Those of us who decide to stay and take the good with the bad, like anything in life, will wave at you from the other side in 3-5 years. Good luck in finding happiness with another company who isn't laying off in this economy.

Oh please. Your company may as well have a revolving door. The average tenure is probably under a year. You cannot possibly be successful when most of you time is spent hiring and training. More importantly how can you products even be considered safe. I do not work there nor would I. My company treats not only me but the rest of its employees with dignity and respect not to mention they are all treated quite fairly. And that is the key to a successful company. Just because you are thrilled does not mean the rest of your company is. And just the fact that you say "Don't let the door hit you on the way out" is proof enough that there is very little concern for the workforce there. So like I was saying. 3-5 years.

I have to agree with "LG". The attitude of the workforce plays a major role in how successful a company is. You cannot be successful without being a complete team. Fortunately for business owners and managers, uneducated hourly employees also feel compelled not to change their lives mostly out of fear. So although it may seem easy for people to suggest finding alternative employment, it really is not quite that easy. The fear of change often keeps people in environments that are not beneficial to them.

I am curious to know. If your company is as successful as you claim it will be how will that benefit you? This is a private company and unless you are in sales I doubt you will see any real change in your salary.

  5. Dearest LG,

You must come from the thread who awards all the teams, winners and losers, with trophies…YEAHHHHHH good for you – you just lost…here’s a trophy. Good life lesson Mr/Mr.s Liberal Socialist. Last time I checked- you work hard, you get rewarded. You rest on your laurels, you get fired.
    1) No one funded this company but the hard work of a man who literally grew up dirt poor- you moron
    2) That “ex wife” lives very happily NOW from HIS money he made through the years of created businesses and jobs- and yes- being shrewd.
    3) Turn-over isn’t always a bad thing- especially when you are upgrading.
    4) Yes- we made mistakes in hiring- but- now we weed through them and get a good hard working deserving core.Such is life.
    5) Impossible to work here? That is so ignorant…the people who have those feelings …oh yeah- the ones who were fired or should not have ever been hired in the first place
    6) His new wife??? McDonalds? She may be unorthodox but there is more than one way to skin a cat- and if you believe the Wharton grads and the Kellogg grads who learned the business model of America- then you must now understand that our country was built on false pretenses…those models don’t work….whoops (see GM)…maybe this one does.
    7) “There are many hardworking individuals working for you both in sales and in manufacturing. They are paid well. The rest are not.” This may be the single dumbest thing you said LG- of course some are paid well.. and some are not….that’s called life ..that’s called good workers and bad workers……that a little thing called Darwins’s Theory….I bet they get paid better then many of the people in Detroit eh? People are happy to have jobs you idiot and they are treated as they work….no one is entitled to anything- and the ones who think they are….bitch bitch bitch….just like you
    8) You become successful by making people accountable…having great Chiefs and great Indians. People that know their role and do it well…not sitting there waiting for someone to pat them on the ass…. Group hug? Anyone? Group hug?
    9) “By reading these posts everyone can see the level of happiness. And the vindictiveness of the people who claim they are happy.” Another brilliant quote LG- guess who writes these things ???? the ones who got fired or don’t work well anyways…. Are you kidding you are a joke and we wouldn’t want you here…name a company where 100% of the workers are happy? No grudges? No entitlement issues? Hmmm? Oh yeah Narnia has a dog-catching program like that….go apply
    10) And yes- now for the last-3-5 years? Do you even know what we make? Do you know the technology? We have no debt and a technology in demand-we could make saline for the rest of our being and still make money….

Just a final word- before you go judge and kick and scream…think about all the families that have parents that can’t get jobs…ANY jobs….You think they would complain because we don't give Starbucks in the coffee line???? go to work- it feels good. Idiot.

LG- I am more than willing to defend this company and the ways it is run- you go hug your tree and hope a berry doesn’t hit you in the head and knock you out. Sweat dreams cupcake. Move to Canada.

Wow! You are lost in your own world aren't you. It is amazing that when people feel really passionate about something they totally lose all sense of reality. You obviously lack the outsude view of the company therefore arguing with you would be futile. I was not stating my opinion I was stating truths. but you may never see that since you are clearly not in a correct state of mind. Enjoy you blissful ignorance. Oh and just for the record, I am a conservative republican. Which only supports my claim that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Ahhhh but I do LG- I do- you idiot.....I have never been more clear in my entire life ...and if you think what you wrote is being a capitalist- go pound sand...truths? you're an idiot if you think those wern't "opinions" ...go back to school and save room for your friends in the unemployment line- give them a hug for me and continue to blame everyone else for you own problems...and theirs....and again- go start your own company genious..I give you 3-5 days....

Nephron is one of the strangest corporate cultures I have experienced. Not to put to fine a point on it, but 'Nephron blows monkey balls'.

    Anonymous LG hater,

You should probably learn how to spell prior to putting sarcastic remarks in writing. Just makes you look foolish. If you are a manager you should be fired for engaging in this type of behavior. It is childish and irresponsible. It will only lead to more deragatory statements being said about your company for all the world to see. Not to mention you must have more important things to be tending too than this.

    Anonymous (head in the clouds),

I did have more important things to do, and now they are done. So it is time to rag on you and that POS company you defend. It's really funny to see you criticize the deragotory statements, yet you take the time to engage in the conversation. Seems like you are sitting at your desk being a loser, but I am not surprised. Stare at the monitor, get angry, and waste your time and future at this place. Oh no.... I think I can hear the keystrokes of the infamous 'HR meeting' being scheduled. It will address the fools from this company who engage in cafepharma on company time. Better run and hide. Make sure to take the tethered keyboard at your desk so you can still type....Loser!

I think there may be a South Florida resident on here who is throwing in random comments to make it seem like it's someone else. She is just trying to egg on managem...,,, well, lets just call them the home office, and we all know she can never shutup. Im not going to defend the company or engage in this stupid conversation at all, but I will say that I am personally so happy i will never have to hear that voice again, ever.

OK now I know you are an idiot because I have no idea what this even means, in fact none of it even makes sense. Doesn't surprise me though. In a company where no one is qualified for any of the jobs that they are doing I can't expect you to be able to concentrate on keeping cigarette butts out of the pouches and still be able to make sense on a message board. Good luck honey you need it.

I think you just proved my point! You don't understand the entire point of my previous quote. Yet, as you say, and I paraphrase: "..noone is qualified for any of the jobs they are doing..". If you would get your head out of your a** and think for a moment, I just made a point to not waste your time at this place. Obviously, you don't understand direct conversation. As I said, continue to waste your time here.

I think you proved my point! You are definitely one of the few are unqualified as you agree with me in your 3rd sentence, yet are clueless in your first. As eloquently as you put it, noone is qualified. Should we put you at the top of the list of the incompetent?

all I can do is laugh as I read these posts. Anyone that works or has worked at this company knows what a joke it is! NO ONE is qualified for the positions that they have.

agreed. none of the arguments in these posts even make sense and are a testament to the lack of common sense and intelligence. But hey that about sums up Nephron in a nutshell-nothing makes sense. If something makes logical sense, it probably isn't happening here. The voice of reason is not recognized or welcome. If someone knows what they are doing in the industry or prides themselves on working credibly and in a way that brings true value, they will not do well or be happy here. Most of the unqualified as the other poster mentions aren't even smart enough to know they are not qualified, and that's just dangerous.

I think maybe the person that is engaging in this message board argument with me does not realize that I do not work for Nephron. Nor have I in quite some time. I would love to continue with the banter but you are so passionate about your love for Nephron that most of your arguments are not making sense. It is my opinion this company is poorly run. I think you actually made my point for me. Now get out there and start yelling at people and treating them like crap so that they will work harder and respect you.

Yet the company continues to grow in sales year over year...yep, that's a terrible way to judge a company's success. Maybe some of those people with their "head in the clouds" actually work and enjoy it. Now there's a concept.

You must be using some special nephron math to claim sales are up this year.

Even if sales are up, which in all actuality they should be since you are a generic drug maker, that does not mean that your company is successful. It only means that you have a demand for your product. Success in business has many different parts to it. I agree that sales are a role but not the most important.

Now this may sting but if you had any business sense at all, even if you took one class at a local community college, they would tell you that first and foremost, successful companies hire the best. In doing so it will cost more but you will end up saving in the end because of better productivity. You will also not need to micro manage. You hire competent people to do a job and you are confident they can accomplish the desired results without interference.

You also need to have a very strong customer service department to maintain good relationships with customers.

And most importantly your company needs to have a very strong "culture". This encourages employees to get the job done and to get it done well.

There are several other marketing tools used to make companies successful but really marketing isn't part of the overall problem. They mostly consist of price and target area. If there was time spent on market globalization and pricing you would probably see an increase in sales that your company certainly could not fullfill.

So all in all I cannot call your company successful just because you are selling product. Your employees, mostly managers, are incompetent. Your owners micro manage every aspect of the company, the overall company "culture" sucks. And your sales force although fairly decent still has tunnel vision.

Now that I have given you a free course in business take this and learn from it. The fact that you think you are doing your employees a favor by hiring them is a flashing red light. Employers are thankful of the work that their employees do. Not the other way around. Likewise employees that are qualified are confident in their abilities and do not stand for mistreatment. You are a poorly run company and until you realize it you will continue to run yourselves into the ground.
