Amen and good luck to all you URL reps out there. I hope that Takeda finds a place for you in our organization. It is really sad that there is so much negativity, but please understand this is not reflective of all of us. Takeda is a very frustrating culture right now. two layoffs in the last couple years, poor launch strategies, unrealistic goals lack of direction and communication from our executive team.
Some of the negative comments on here towards URL should not be directed to those of you that are just trying to grasp at straws for what your future holds.
This is an opportunity for Takeda and I hope they make some intelligent decisions for a change with taking over Colcrys. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out a couple things. First, Takeda could be the hero by lowering the cost of this drug. I am not talking about a new rebate program. Lower the cash price and contracted price. Think of the shock and awe created by a pharma company lowering a drug price.
Second, consider a Colcrys and Uloric combo pack. If it would be priced reasonably and leveraged to get on formularies, it could be a winner of a combo product.

I am just a lowly grunt without any marketing or management experience. Surely our leadership can come up with a plan to own, rich and expand thsi new product.

Just so you URL reps know, the majority of the people who post on this board are NOT Takeda employees. They are disgruntled former Takeda employees who were given the boot during one of the last 2 downsizes, still can't find a job, and think their time is best spent visiting their former employer's board to start trouble, false rumors, and stir the pot. It's therapy for them. Best advice: Don't feed the trolls.

I would cut 90% of the worthless Takeda Legacy Blowhards carrying Uloric, retain the USB reps, let TAP run the DPP4I launch, and sell edarbi.

I agree, Takeda would be a genius if they knew how upset all the docs were and decided to turn colcrys around by actually lowering the price and doing a comb pack. and possibly lowering the cost of uloric. they would make plenty of money in the long run. docs would be so happy coclrys was cheaper takeda would be the real hero if they actually did that. You guys have done a great job with your commercials and marketing, everyone talks about it.
Best of luck with Colcrys, maybe your company will also be able to sample the drug as URL never did.

People like you scare me. You come to an anonymous Internet board to determine the mind-set of an entire sales force. Good luck finding a job. Real talk.

In keeping with the rhythm of our industry, the most attractive quality about any given representative is attitude. With that being said, we live in a volatile environment, one that demands performance. We who are professionals in our field should never become complacent with mediocrity. The evidence has yet to be presented showing the true "bottom line", or detailed guidelines for gout treatment from the ACR. Hence, silence the slander, and with dignity move forward and become flexible with change. We that are committed to being the best, will succeed! The contracted URL representatives were not handed the tools they use to become experts in the gout field, they bandaged the battle wounds and though not given medals for achievement, continued to persevere. Maybe "Colcrys" was indeed one of the most challenging products to sell, yet URL maintained a level of professionalism that earned each of us the right to claim the title. WE are primed and ready to sell combination therapy! WE have been selling Uloric along with Colcrys. Not because we were paid to, rather because we understand and are able to communicate effectively with our physicians. We are a team and believe in standing up for what is right!

P.S. I was asked to make a statement on this board, and find this to be quite a interesting illustration of the "talent" in the industry. Acumen is not acquired it is developed!

Takeda has endured two large layoffs in the last couple of years. They have released reps with accomplishments, tenure, expert disease state knowledge and tenure, very solid customer relationships. However, none of that mattered because this is a business and what is in the best financial interest of the company is all that matters.

Those of us who have witnessed this and are still here realize that at the end of the day the company makes decisions that benefit the company, every one of us, every one of you are replaceable. If Takeda keeps you all, (which I do not see happening), it will not be on the basis of some higher moral ground. It will be because it is financially advantageous to do so. This is the same reason I am here and I won't be any longer when my position is in the red.

My suggestion is to start looking for a job and assume you will soon be unemployed. If Takeda does roll you in it will be a pleasant surprise. Good luck.

So, will all URL reps soon be laid-off is still the question? In most markets large and small Takeda reps outnumber URL reps 2 or 3 to 1. Surely Takeda won't keep the URL sales force around and promote both drugs as "gout specialists" right?

As a URL rep I completely agree with you. In fact, that is how many of us ended up here. I don't believe that there is a future for us with Takeda. I think the timeline is what is most important.

Hey Einstein did you know that there are a lot of patients that can't tolerate allopurinol or need a more aggressive ULT to get to goal??? So that is when we would promote Uloric! Take a break from here & go read some PI's!

If I was a big shot at Takeda, I would keep the URL sales force, make them the gout specialists since they know how to move marketshare!!! Just sayin!

Finally a URL employee with some forward thinking. Well spoken. I'm sure all of your accomplished a great deal and the team work and spirit is admirable and makes me nostalgic for our old company. But pride is like religion and doesn't need to be prostelatized. A betting man says you quickly submit for the Takeda vacancies. There will be no adding to this sales force for the next couple of years only downsizing again depending on the PDUFA at the end of the month. It's pretty obvious

    To all URL reps

There are many Takeda positions around the country. Here is the link to the Takeda US website. Morale is in the shitter right now at Takeda, but if you think you will lose your job at URL you may have nothing to lose. If Takeda is allowed to interview URL reps, I would think you would have a leg up if you would be selling Uloric with Colcrys.
There are some really good managers at Takeda as well as some nightmares. If you aren't desperate for a job, do some homework to try to determine what type of manager you are interviewing with. Request a ride-along with a current rep or at least to talk to a current rep. Best of luck to all of you. Takeda has been through 2 layoffs in as many years. Many current and displaced know what you are going through now.

Just so you guys know the URL folks know nothing. Seems like we are waiting for your company to determine our fate and give us an official announcement. It all comes down to when at this point. Please let us know if you hear anything from your end.
