folks first we are down way more than 40 mil....way more....

second from the beginning this was a 3 phase process....June/Oct/January
the only thing that would have changed that was performance this year.....performance this year has been absymal in the US and Europe.....LACAR is only region performing and growing
one could say forecasting has been the issue yet then the asswipes at NVS would have to look in the mirror so it is sales fault

third field sales yes brace yourself...going to be ugly....home office will get hit again yet not to the level as before....europe about to get hammered worse than the states...dont know about canada sorry

yes supply chain was walked out last week....not sure why...

these things are happening so for those who think this is trolling or scare tactics sorry that you cant face the reality of the situation our once great company is in....our new reality is this....continuous phases of realignment/change and layoffs...it is the NVS way

check their boards or ask around...they just canned some folks and are changing up their pharma again....or at least they will be

.....this place is beyond redemption.....you should see the incompetence in this building and in these meetings....stunning

I really do appreciate the insights. Just to clarify, the October cuts are these for sales and will January also be cuts for the sales team?

Yes. Different divisions will be the focus on differing months.

Well we know they can't lay off all the reps, so what's the plan? One GSR per territory? End Quintiles contract? Bigger territories for SEE reps? The reality is they need some reps, so whoever has all the inside scoop, give us a head count.

Not doing anything to Field Sales in October! The days they are supposed to be laying people off coincides with a large Phase 1 class, so they are not going to put people in a hotel for 2 weeks, pay for all their expenses only to lay other in FS off at the same time - they would not be hiring or doing that class if that were the case. But note they are not hiring any managers right now -just having reps fill in. Also worth noting as sales struggle FS is the only hope they have in closing that gap!

Next year might be a different picture as sales are in the gutter, Allergan has slashed its sales force and said good bye to its contract workers and SEE has nothing new. I do not doubt there will be lay offs next year, maybe that is why we have a small hotel and POA in Feb for both divisions but that is just my hunch!

Whether or not a training class is scheduled is irrelevant. Those involved with planning, scheduling, and executing these classes are no where near the level to have any insights regarding a salesforce reduction, just look at what happened in May...

a phase one class is completely irrelevant and in fact dont be shocked if the people running these classes also experience change....big picture folks thats what you need to consider...
this is not kate and the rds planning this out...in fact they are not included in any of it...they are told just like you....this is mckinsey and the 7th floor who receives the plan from mckinsey.....boy blunder the oompa loompa GM and his evil douchebag sidekick stevie G continue to teach us neophytes from alcon how to run a business....oh wait we havent made any money since they showed up

The above is correct. Of course DMs RDs and Kate "don't know". Plausible deniability goes a long way in making everyone feel more secure. Funny you all act as they would tell if a layoff was coming. But Kate said...but iPads...but training classes! Tell us and then lose any chance in hell we would continue to work hard? Business 101 folks

I give the current regime a vote of no confidence. Remember the NVS take over of Alcon was supposed to result in "synergies" and cost savings. If the executives behind the deal and running the current were competent they would not need to rely on Mckinzie. NVS has an ample supply of MBA's and business "experts"yet they paid Mckinzie for a plan that resulted in thousands of employees being shafted and mistreated. By using a plan from Mckenzie, the over paid, under performing management at NVS and Alcon can play Pontius Pilate. Spin less weasels need others to do their dirty work. Now that Alcon is fubar, those at NVS and Alcon that are ultimately responsible can avoid taking responsibility for the debacle. Remember this company also took over Chiron, mismanaged it for a few years until it was fubar. Now what was Chiron needs to be sold. It looks like the same will happen to Alcon. Nestlé was smart enough to interfere too much with Alcon.
It is time to oust those responsible for this disaster.

If you have talent, ambition and an ounce of integrity, you should leave this place as soon as possible.

After viewing the novartis board, it appears that they have already been given notice of an upcoming salesforce restructuring. Interesting that when it has happened at Alcon, there is no official warning, other than the 24 hour notice that we recieved in 2013, none was given in May...why the desparity in procedures?

Speaking of the evil sidekick, why was Steve G missing from our recent meeting? I was hoping with Lisa P taking over Sales/Ops she could smell his BS and oust him. Truly an evil man.
