Wish I could be that brave. Do you have a new manager? What did they say when you quit! SAD good people leave before you even have literature or samples. Good luck!

PDI has a history of short time employees. The turn over is great because the pay is low, the mileage is below government allowances and you basically work for free for many of the hours you put in. I hate that they have decreased the mileage payment but they figure you would drive 40 miles round trip to a regular job and that's why you subtract that 40 miles each day. They have cut out so much of the administrative pay such as your internet connection, your cell phone etc. I guess they want to make sure the guys in NJ get their mega bucks off our backs.

All true! Worked for PDI many years. It's a love/hate relationship for some. Love the selling aspects, but that is usually overshadowed by all the craziness. Poor communication, literally no tools for working in the field and the computer system is constantly messed up. I cannot imagine other companies being so unprofessional! It's like an abusive relationship.

Worked on the dedicated side from 2001-2004. Now that is a long time by CSO standards. Anyway it's always a wonder why PDI is still in business. Management from top to bottom does not breed success in any way shape nor form. It just astounds me that they continue to hold their head above water, but oh so barely.

Very true previous post! Why is anyone still here? Times are hard in pharmaceutical sales. PDI has improved since America Lopez Luis left last year. She was the worst company leader I've had in 20 years!

This is by far the best contract we've ever had. Make your numbers and it will be around for the duration. Quit being negative. There are probably 100 people that would love to have your job!

You need to sound more "reppie" when you (DM) are trying to be covert on Cafe Pharma.

Put my notice in today .... My time is worth more than what PDI is willing to pay.

I was told I would be paid for 2 weeks of training and then it changed AFTER we started.
Mileage reimbursement at $.48/mile is WRONG when it's my car wear and tear.

Paying for mileage AFTER 40 miles round trip is WRONG! My first call is 10 miles from my home and I'm not commuting, I am working for PDI!

I signed off on a handbook that stated $50.00 for cell phone/internet. It is WRONG to change that when we are trying to submit our first expense report. The PDI iPad is still using my internet and the cell phone is part of pharma re-imbursement for real pharma companies.

No pay for conference calls reflects HOW important Communication is to PDI.

NO pay for administrative time means PDI's expectation that we check email 2x/day plus voicemail is a "free activity"

Signatures for every call and currently NO SAMPLES or vouchers means the physician does not see value in the calls I am currently making on them. PLUS the bonus is unattainable when 30% of the targeted offices/physicians do not see or take samples. (No chocolate allowed! Even if they are chocolate eaters!)

I was told I would be calling on specialists. I guess that changed to every FP that seems to be on the "hard to see" physician list.

NO storage fees will be paid. However all samples required to be stored according to FDA guidelines. I don't have "free" storage in my home that complys to the guidelines so I would pay that out of pocket?

Sorry for the laundry list. These questions were asked when I interviewed and the answers were not fully answered until four weeks into employment. Good luck to all who stay. I hope you do not go backwards on pay (because there are NO BENEFITS)!

Kind of like signing up for a "TIMESHARE" in Mexico and being surprised with all the inaccuracies afterwards. Happy I wasn't called for an interview. They would be better off playing fair and not having their dirty laundry aired like this publicly. Are they trying to get it down to minimum wage?

Congrats on your decision to quit. Many of us are in the same boat and have to make that decision. I feel like I am working for free after all the out of pocket expenses. Bottom line, we were lied to about the pay etc. What a joke and the joke is on us.

I am really sorry you are going through this. I know some CSOs pay 40k for 3 days a week. Good luck finding something new!

Funny, nothing has changed since I left in 2004! Still the same complaints, scenarios and gripes. Sorry folks wishing and hoping does little when management and attitude never changes. Wow, that's 11 years ago and nothing has changed for the better.

It's sad really. This is a good contract. It took a lot of time and effort for the training. Everyone, including the client, PDI and reps could benefit. But the facts are there that our management is already heading down the same road once again. What is wrong with these people? Why hire good solid folks and treat them so unprofessional? Frank A. get this ship on the right course or it's going down.

welcome to the real world. This is no different than most of corporate America. We all got spoiled from our former lives at big pharma. Once you realize those days are over you will accept what most of corporate american workers are living with

You are a smart person. Your explanation is accurate.

You can hope for this MS/Mr DM, but fair is fair and it has nothing to do with the above. In this milenium it is not vogue to operate a company like a Mexican Timeshare Promotion. Those coming on board should know each and every detail beforehand. Potential employees can then make an educated decision as to whether they want to join the ranks of the "corporate America" that you speak of above. You can't reel people in and then clarify.
