Any thoughts on when this allergan acquisition will be finalized and how soon after the field force could see layoffs? BS has made it clear that there will be cuts but like the forest acquisition where they kept saying 10 percent, we have heard very little this time.

Please stop this type of fear mongering thread. As a
Manager in legacy Forest I can affirm that there are
No plans for involuntary layoffs. A package will be available
to a target group based on seniority and performance (lack of)
and will offer generous inducements and special treatment.
NO ONE will be forced out. We need a strong presence in the field.

That all said the most likely impact will be some tightening up
on work benefits (per diem allowance, sick / personal time off and goals of performance to achieve bonus).
This to align with industry norms.

No need for concern. Just fl your job.

Yes because our PTO plan is so outrageously extravagant.

So when these senior members of the company don't take a package because they are old, overpaid and under productive, and simply don't want a package because they don't have anywhere else to go, and they just want to take this paycheck until they die, what then?

Not so well thought out there Mr. wannabe-managementsounding CP poster.

Hey don't you get it, if they don't take the package they get 'special treatment'. That's corporate speak for harassment, PIPs, and shuffling off to the Siberia. Trust me, a senior manager, they will beg to leave !!

HR has not approved this post.

You have NOTHING to worry about !!

March 10th.....that is the date of the shareholder votes for both companies. If approved, the companies are essentially combined. It took about 6 weeks post close of forest and actavis for layoffs to occur. However, I'm pretty sure they'll move more quickly this time.

This is correct, and was completed in December. Also, salesforce cuts will be close to 1,000 between the two organizations. The vast majority of these coming from the CNS side. I'm no troll. I'm in the know.

They will never cut that many come on now total bull crap. ,,,I'd be surprised if more than 100 get packages and they will be the oldtimers or other grossly overpaid reps - like me I'm in here for 12 years and ready to move on but will miss the $135k a year.

BS said in an allergan town hall last week 15% reduction; both companies will see reductions and it will start intermediately and last several months. Nobody is safe in mergers regardless of what they say before said merger and the total number reduced can change either way.

He later added 15% was the starting point. So probably more. Wall Street and EPS drive these
    numbers.

They are going to do whatever the hell they want when they want to do it. If they change their mind, that's their prerogative too.

What about women's health...we saw very minimal reductions last layoff...will we be more apt to see changes here

Doesn't take a genius to know that when you have three salesforces selling the same products, that reductions are in our future.

Hard to tell what size is adequate when you have a GD phone book for a target list.

If your resume reads Enterprise or Fed Ex you're going to get the boot.

Nah, they love Enterprise people around here.
If you have true specialty experience at reputable companies, you're going to get the boot.

I come from the specialty side as well but I can tell you this type of pretentious attitude is why many of us are loathed. Preferring to sell in specialty and being experienced in it is one thing. Pretending like you are better because of it is another. You can do the first without being an ass. I prefer calling on specialists for obvious reasons but can you actually say it's more difficult? Hell no--pcp offices are a shit storm of craziness. And you mock people that work at Enterprise? Dudes work a hell of a lot harder than we do. I just think you do yourself a disservice when you tear down others to build yourself up.
