First week of March head office layoffs 30 percent. Field sales will be untouched.

The 30% number may be accurate, but I doubt the timing is right. A cut of this size would have leaked in the HO a long, long time ago. But then again, layoff packages would want to be paid with the current FY budget, so who knows. Also, many of this 30% consist of open headcount positions, not actual bodies. As for the sales force, why cut it? So many folks are leaving proactively, it very likely will right size itself. KK said that DSI has $850m in expenses. That's going to change and it is going to impact everyone and every aspect of the company.

When are the PC cuts expected ? When Effient is a better product than Eban. It's time to start looking.

The sales force keeps this ship floating. Start by eliminating or replacing the people who handle our call plans and Insight!

You can get rid of half of PC and nothing would happen to our market share. That is a fact !

So speaks the Hospital or CV rep who thinks way too highly of themselves. Way too highly.

It is not about who is better. It is about who will have something to sell. PC does not sell an anticoagulant. Get it !

Ummm....PC calls on cardiologists too right? So they do sell savaysa....it's unrealistic to expect that a cv rep can single handedly launch savaysa without any help.

Which is why they have a hospital rep.... The problem now is, there are too many reps calling on the same physician's. And, TBH, the CV and hospital reps need to be calling on the specialists. Coming from a PC rep who thinks highly of myself.

My PC reps have the same targets as I do as CV. I guess that makes me a PC rep too. Or perhaps that makes my PC reps CV. It's like the Sneetches book from Dr. Seuss. Damn you McBean!

Except "most" PC reps cannot hold a conversation with a Cardiologist. Too high level for someone who just started in Pharma.

It doesn't matter what your tittle is...either you're a good rep or you're a crappy one...so to say all PC reps can't hold a conversation with a cardiologist is absolutely ridiculous. CV has been a PC4 sales force for the last 3 years selling HTN so I don't see what the difference is. If you're a tenured rep, regardless of title, you should be able to sell this drug effectively.

Yep hypertension the same as an anticoagulant. NVAF is the same as hypertension and so are the studies we promote.

    Idiot !

It appears that CV should also work on sentence structure. The above post is confusing. Is that the way you communicate with a cardiologist?

The HO layoff should be announced on Monday. Not the kill list yet, but the overall reorg initiative. It's looking like 30%, 120 bodies to leave 2 Hilton Court.

But actually, this is only one of three planned reorgs over the next 12 months. The sales force will be cut in December. This shouldn't be too bad since so many folks are jumping ship. Also, HO round 2 will happen the same time next year. Looking for another 30% and the HO will in total be cut in half.

RIP DSI. It was a great run!
