In my mind,Doug was the reason Takeda has fallen so far,so fast.He was beset with distrust, lies,(remember his speech after the 2010 downsize that "we need everyone in this room")then another downsize.Loss of integrity within the company,a reach sales goals at any cost mentality, that started with him.My hope is that starting with his ousting, that the HO will continue to be cleaned out and that we can have leadership again that we can follow and have faith in,for time is quickly running out before the lights will be permanetly turned off.To Doug, one last salute,F##k off you slime ball!!

    Have others OWN your mistakes.
ENRICH yourself at the expense of others.
EXPAND your control while reducing your accountability.

His legacy is pushing his son down the slide at Atlantis. It was a sign of things to come.

The only surprise about Doug being fired is that it took so long.

The real surprise here is that a badly managed integration SIX years ago between TAP and TPNA created such a bad taste in peoples’ mouths that the legacy TAP vs legacy Takeda bitterness continues to divide TPUSA.

Doug’s legacy, if he has one, is that he failed completely to even realize that he had to mend a company divided against itself. He could have done that by bringing in some talent from the outside instead of promoting his TAP buddies. Robin Powers, Tim Rudolphi, Jim Patnoe … hardly cream of the crop. Hopefully the remaining execs at TPUSA will be spending more time with their families by Christmas.

Doug didn’t make the decisions during the failed integration. Rich Daley owns that failure. But Doug never realized that TPUSA was not just TAP with a new name. Doug had lots of opportunities. He just didn’t get it.

Doug’s replacement will come from outside the company. Not a moment too soon.

For the few of you on this forum who wish to know the truth, Douglas Cole did not get fired, nor was he asked to resign. He is pursuing family and personal interests, and furthermore tried to leave for the same reasons 3 years ago, but was asked to stay and assume new responsibilities. I have known Doug personally for years, and can tell you he is genuinely excited about assuming this long planned and slightly overdue new chapter to his life.

Riiiiggghhtt. Here is the deal. Bring in real talent from the outside to replace all VPs and up. Get sales and marketing people with proven experience launching new products and business development people that can find and close deals. Instill a professional culture at the home office. No more cronies, no more Friday afternoons off (what a joke), no more excuses. We could be in such a better place a year from now!

"Spending more time with family" is one step above "pursuing personal interests" ... it's meaning is clear and unambiguous ... involuntary termination of employment.

Doug Cole will be paid out handsomely no doubt. I don't doubt he is excited about finding ways to spend his money.

Once the new outside person comes in, he/she will do just that, bring their cronies in. Very scary time if you are a VP here. just as bad if you're a member of Team PowerPoint".
