Lots of negative posts on here, but what is happening in Oncology? Big things coming with anti PD-1. Is there a good vibe? Big plans?

Oncology is the only place to be in Merck right now. Positive management. Exciting launch upcoming.

No one respects our specialty divisions.

Oncology is the only one with a prayer.

Psych closed down, fertility is crap, HIV has 1 decent drug and no pipeline, and Hep C has no drugs left.

The product hasn't been approved yet! Why is everyone so confident before a drug is approved? Our track record of getting drugs FDA approval hasn't exactly been the best the last 8 years. I hope our PD1 gets to market but nothing is a guarantee.

No fears, BMS will already have the same class on the market...as will one other (will confirm the other). Merck may be third?

It's in Phase Ib...long way to go. Merck better tone down the bravado and worry about how they present data to the FDA. They laid an egg with the sleep drug.

Perlmutter has to beat his chest about something coming through this pipeline. There is good reason to doubt Merck's capacity to remain competitive in this therapeutic space. Too much internal baggage and much stronger contenders in front of them.

Fools and morons are always positive. And Oncology has plenty of them at the helm. Sad.

You do realize this news is a few weeks old, right? And for ovarian cancer and not the holy grail PD-1 mechanism, right? Oh, and that it is bad news for the women who have advanced stage ovarian cancer who this drug was meant to help.

Don't be a dick - most people still hope for cures, wherever they might be found.

Do you realize this was announced yesterday? It may be old you but I am just learning from the post that they have officially given up on this drug. Usually press releases are the latest news from a company. When exactly was this announced before, some internal memo?
