    Lol. Rep.
Amazing GUI? So what? Make it easier for these stupid ass RTS to make vent errors. What's so amazing about the neo capabilities...you have a flow sensor? welcome to 1990's technology. Will your oscillator have fda???Leak compensation!!! WOW. Tell me more, never heard of that! NAVA!! Pay $300 to trigger a vent.....listen you dummy, where's the esophageal monitoring? where's the recruitment/PEEP tools, where is heliox?? New GE vent looks better than this POS....
980 is a farce too. Keep waiting for 2.0. What's the deal at mayo?

    Hello Mr.HiIQ...you sound really...helpless
Isn't it worth 300 bucks to make a difference in a health consumers life, preserve natural breathing and reduce risk of VAP, VIDD, VILI and longterm stay?
BTW when will magic 2.0 be cleared by the agency? Assume plan is to include all the features you so proudly mentioned.

Class 1 recall nicht closed. Not in Mayo. If u want to use vent made by company tht prioritizeds 980 $$$ + costs to fix faulty 840 vent ovr patient safety buy 980. Look about 3 or 4 posts up. No way that ist alles BS. U want to do biz w company like that?

Someone goes to DOJ and evidence hints of wrongdoing, division ist hosed. DOJ and Oci must be asleep at wheel w all these posts. Shame execs peed in pool and set shoddy example. Lot of good ppl on front lines. No vent purrfect but seems PB lost sight of rite reasons to be in device.

Two recalls in two months, so should we still be waiting for 2.0 to clean things up?

My guess is that covidien will not fix the software. They are sitting on their hands until the "merger" goes through then it will be medtronic's problem to fix. My other guess is that medtronics will either sell of rms or ask covidien to dump it before the "merger" takes place.
    Just a guess.

980 2.0 project compltn severl mnths away then testing thn FDA rvw process . Maybe Willet wants to test new features in humans then animals again like v1.0 . 980 v1.0 FDA 510k rvw took 8+ months. 2 FDA class 1 980 recalls cpl mnths apart hasn't improved Covidien Puritan Bennett standing in FDA eyes and fixing recalls delays 2.0 timeline .

Devils advocate why buy vent from cmpny acquired then sold shortly aftr? Division will be reeling aftr 1st round and utter chaos after 2nd. lot of Cuts. No stability 4 customers buying capital equipment being used long term. Execs saying everythig fine. Total BS & every1 in Cov outside RMS knows it's gone.

Just made sure attny gen FDA DOJ aware of this 1,welcome 2 Medtronic, vascular & DOJ threads. Others shld 2. Can always reach out 2 congressman and senators like Chuck Grassley if investigators sit on their hands. Execs nvr held accntble for breaking compny policies FDA rules fed laws then get golden parachutes. Top guys r bunch of ex Tyco crooks and MDT off label execs who r bad ppl.

Best start to New Year ever! J Willett on way out.

Not buying "retirement" story. Bullshit making it look like his choice. Execs his age dont leave on own w out new job lined up. Theyre forced out for history of probs or series of fuckups. How many over how many years? Only thing hes good at is shifting blame. JW personified the Peter Principle, "managers rise to the level of their incompetence."

Why he deserves dignity of "retiring" after screwing over so many due to his many failures, shortcomings, flawed moral compass, and crap judgement is mind boggling. Must have some dirt on the guys higher up. Threatened Mutually Assured Destruction maybe?

    No leaks
This was the info reps were selling to customers pre 980. Pumping it up and telling them they would convert their 840s to 980s with all these great features!

JW shoved out 5 years too late.

Question is will 980 v2.0 just add features or truly address the inherent design flaws affecting patient safety?

    Interesting read.

    http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/blog/boosters_bits/2015/01/colorado-important-to-an-enlarged-medtronic-inc.html

Senior Covidien and Medtronic execs don't mention respiratory solutions or vents, just monitoring. How many getting pushed out in Boulder? Relocated to Carlsbad? Spun off, sold, broken into pieces? We should start a pool.

Update those resumes and sharpen interviewing skills, ventilation isn't a growth business.

Here's recall number three, I seriously doubt they have time to focus on 980 2.0 features with 2 class 1 recalls and now a class 2. I guess that's what MedTronic deserves for their greed in trying to save on taxes. It will be interesting to see what happens to this division after the merger.

The problems seem to have settled down. I need to start looking at vents for next year. Anyone else have the 980 that can elaborate more on the reliability? Im fine with temporary software issues. Those always seem to get fixed.

I'd rather stay with PB since that is what we are standardized with.
