Do these so-called leaders really think we're stupid enough to believe that these headcount reductions are a result of well thought out transformational strategy and proactive planning? It's obvious that the top line isn't there, so the bottom line reductions run the show...without any thought! There were people laid off one day last week and this week told their layoff was being rescinded and they were back. WTF? Dignity and Respect, my ass!!

The West has had layoffs due to the Net Sales model reducing the revenue in Medicaid areas as much as 80%. Same pattern as last year. A few clusters hit, then moving favored reps into "safe" positions, then the restructure effective 7/1/15

Don't fool yourself, the methodology of the 2014 cuts was as wrong as wrong can be. A dip from a managed care loss, a kol who cuts out for a competitor bucks could end your career......if, you were not connected.

For the connected its another story. Having that "in" means all the difference! Bottom ranks for consecutive years but with that management in can mean you keep your job. Yep, rolling years of bottom barrel production can still keeps you untouchable and protected. After all, yer competencies were so great...even if they (and you) weren't effective!

Pal up! AK! Those in the power seat just might grant you a "wink and nod."

All others, yep you are a pawn in this flawed game.
....where those competencies will be stretched and shrunk to fit any management plan!

Bull crap. Everybody watching? See how easy it is to dispel these liars?

Here it is: name one person who was recently laid off in the west because of net sales? I'm not talking about reps who didn't work or had no physician access in their territories. They we're lucky to be here as long as they were. No initials-names.

    Let's hear it

    Mercks motto needs to be....
Work here is an illusion, nothing is really as it seems.

We all know some people got laid off last year who were just having a crap year. Had great years before but a down year this time around. Some had uncontrollable situations like managed care and other wonders of the job. All propelling them to the unemployment line. Yet others got pardons. It seems to help to have a special status, a pal in the drivers seat, and things like an ability to create gallons of tears. And those competencies? Seems to be an easy way for the dice man to control the toss.

So with one manager you're great, and the next you're crap. Its the change managers and change your life scenario. We see it again and again. Crap turns golden. Golden turns crap. Transfer away from a lousy manager and get a promotion. Its called playing the game and knowing how to scramble. Less than perfect on a cut year, tossed out or a total no sweat.

Lesson is just get those connections in order, work it and make your numero uno competency kissing up and kissing butt.
