  1. I'd like to ask what it is like to work for Hospira in Australia. What's the culture in Hospira Australia? Is it a nice place to work?

I've read a lot of angry posts about Hospira so far without a single positive comment... does the company have no redeeming quality? I read that they recently laid off a lot of staff, so I don't know if the anger is coming from people who were made redundant or people who are still there (and maybe still feeling good about working there?).

    Appreciate any insights.

    Thank you

the company has changed so much in the last 20or so years. I, personally, started with abbott and in the beginning it was good. Management treated the workers with dignity and we had good benefits. Now with the lean crap and whatever else they want to call it, the benefits and being treated with dignity has wained. Threats of plant closures constantly, changing policies on a regular basis, cutting head count, doing more work with fewer people. All this and more so they can pay the top people high bonuses and have enough money left over to move production overseas to india, china or costa rica. Other than all that, and more, it is a fine place to work or at least IT'S JUST A JOB.

It is more of what has been taken away or done away with that has most of the people upset. That is evident in the law suit against Abbott and Hospira. Australian's may have a different outlook about the company. Your local management may be able to communicate and respect the workers.

Not any different here. Went downhill rapidly under Hospira. A very unhappy workforce, kept in the dark, and squeezed for more continuously, the end is nigh.

Infested with lazy Indians and Asians eroding our way of life and being protected by their devious family members that have ass-licked their way to an even lazier position within the company.

Very depressing place to work - don't respect hard workers, only people who suck to the managers. Soul destroying and career limiting

So basically, management's poster child of how they plan to continue running the company and treating "Hospira's most valuable resource" ....... the employees.

Poor management of resources leads to undervalued and underutilized employees. The ultimate outcome...... product quality.

But it all still works for the share holders.

50 employees lose jobs at Mulgrave. Many of whom were embarrassing the management by questioning how they run the company. Had to go. Subservants and relatives of management survive for now. Company is a disaster under present Gestapo style leadership.
Many cases of people being harassed and bullied into leaving or unfairly sacked, so that Hospira don't have to pay a retrenchment package. Managers successfully doing this will no doubt receive a bonus.
Worst atmosphere most of us have encountered in any company. Mulgarave won't be around much longer. All off to India

Bet you wish Mayne had never sold to Hospira. Too bad what was once a well run organization has turned into a bloody mess. Hospira as a company continues to sink like the Titanic.

Sad that people who genuinely show loyalty and commitment to the organisation get the flick, while leadership/mgt continue on a path of unclear strategy. Lot of strategy talk done in 2013 - progress nil. Another strategy workshop held in 2014..lol! MD indicated that hospira was a mid-sized company and couldn't afford the luxuries of large pharma company...agree!! How come two directors appointed ....corporate affairs and marketing each coming at a salary package of 200k.

You're obviously clueless about Hospira's work schedule. He may be on his lunch break.
Get a clue before posting on here. You must work in HR.?
