Looking for insider information here. I heard that McNeil missed their Q1 Consent Decree commitments and looking for confirmation of this. Apparently the word on the street is that they have applied for an extension on their commitments for March 31st. Is this true?

Why couldn't they get it done?

Will they ever open the Fort Washington plant?

How many plant managers, quality experts etc. have they gone through now? Heard that the Fort Washington PM is being reassigned. Is this the beginning of the end for Fort Washington or the end of the beginning? Wasn't that plant supposed to be open by the end of 2013????????

Bottom line is that McNeil mgmt is still trying to do things the old way and think they can get away with it as they have in years past: unfortunately for them, the FDA (spurred by congressional pressure following vast recalls and pediatric patient fatalities) is becoming wise to McNeil's weasely ways and are demanding documented evidence of GMP compliance - McNeil's incompetent Quality leaders and teams are of course unable to produce viable proof of quality and the FDA is refusing to let the plant operations resume.

Not much will change unless we get rid of the legacy McNeil Quality teams who caused the CD in the first place ... getting rid of DB and VC was a start but way more needs to be done ...

DB was hired after they got the CD. She was not effective in her role. She hand picked her replacement. And that person used to report to her at SP. Her protege.
VC was replaced by someone apparently from the outside.

If you want to see production go further down the crapper just hire people from Merck/SP. We are not good but they are downright terrible. They could fuck up bottled water. There are so many horror stories about that company.

What is a Consent Decree? GM has one also. Is that a lawyer?

A 'Consent Decree' is typically a federal government 'permanent injunction of shutdown' of some or part of a business operation. McNeil got a CD imposed by the US FDA, while the GM Consent Decree would be by another federal agency: bottom line is, a CD says (in the form of a US court order) to the company "we will shut you down and you can only reopen for business as and when you meet federal standards of quality, safety, pricing, legality etc."

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Did I miss something? Did quantic give their opinion that the McNeil manufacturing sites are now compliant to the FDA? Did fort Washington get the okay to ship product? They are on target? Wow.
