What are you seeing in your territory that is contributing to Livalo's flat sales?

Because it is not covered. When it is covered, it is only with step edits and a prior auth. Even with the PA only about half go through. Offices are getting tired of the push back and are giving up. Docs and patients love this product, such a shame. Look around MI! A little managed care win makes a huge difference!

Yes, same here. I saw the $3 Crestor coupons today. That's not helping us by any stretch.

Seriously it's not rocket science. I'm sooo tired of hearing about the great coverage in my territory and how it is only a "smoke screen" when doctors give you this objection. HOGWASH....multiple rejections mean your product is not going to be written no matter how you sell it. Offices are overworked and don't want to deal with the hoops you have to jump through. Get us some REAL MHC coverage....very telling we no longer get the rah rah about that department we used to and all of Brad's BOOYAS and fist bumps won't change it.

I completely agree. Also, the new IC plan is going to make a lot of past top prescription producers to leave now that the company is paying the bottom feeders.

Totally agree, managed care coverage is horrible for Liavalo, which is leading to flat sales. This is a shame because Livalo is an excellent product. The new 2015 IC plan now is driving away tenured previous high performing sales reps. Also, salaries are on the very low end of the pay scale when compared to industry, which is not helping to retain reps.
33% turnover in sales reps last year, I wonder what the number will be this year.

The new IC plan is now rewarding those that grow. not just volume. How can a rep in a small farm community compete with someone in a major city? They can't. Glad to see they are making it fair across the board. If the "high" producing reps don't like it, they can leave because they know it wasn't fair either. Grow your business, get bonus. Simple as that.

BS!!! They weren't growing their business and now that Kowa is seeing the light, those high performers are jumping ship. Bottom line, they weren't good sales people, they were just sub par reps riding the coat tails of a high volume territories. The 33 percent lost are people who can't sell! Regardless of the pharma company, the name of the game is grow your market share

Shame on Kowa losing such great reps!!! how many scripts do the high market share reps bring in 300 every month???? the low market share reps bring in 2000 a month and are getting no bonus even though they are keeping the lights on. Why don't they go back to the old bonus plan before they lose half the sales force of very talented representatives.

The high share and the low share groups are all negative anyway. Silly for the reps to be fighting between each other. Everyone is losing scripts! Until we get some managed care, no one is going to make money!! Truth!

This speaks volumes! This is why Kowa needs to get rid of this type of rep! You're a coat tail rider, nothing more and nothing less. Any rep can bring in the volume in a high volume territory, it's a given. But can they grow their market?! That's the true sales rep! You have been screwing the pooch long enough, it's time for you to go!

So true! Those tenured/high ranked reps are leaving because they can't grow market share because they can't sell!!! Anyone can bring in volume in major cities. No surprise there. It will be nice to see other reps cross the stage from small cities and market share growth instead of the same reps in big cities. Yeah, real tough selling in NJ, NY, Texas and such. If your that good of a rep, then no matter what the IC plan is, you will succeed!

Have you noticed Vascepa has better managed care than Livalo?

I am astonished at how anyone in their right mind could possibly ask this question! The managed care coverage is deplorable. This is a good drug, but there are alternatives. The ccb story is making us look dumb because there are 2 other reputable and effective statins that are generic that ALSO don't have these interactions. If a doc can't use simva he should use atorva. Regardless unless your mhc person gets better the sales won't grow unless in an area of the country where there is adequate coverage.

Just wait till the PCSK9's are launched in August... Our sales won't just be flat...they will take a huge nose dive! Big pharma is working to make sure they have prime formulary coverage and the safety profile and efficacy data is very impressive. We will have a huge challenge on our hands with that one!
