Disorganization is rampant in this business unit. What is going at the of this heap?
Would someone please get it together and provide clear direction for this sales unit?

This is what happens when you have an inept leadership team in place. We are now focused on excel checkbooks over successful launches. The leader was brought in to save money not work and think strategically. If you cannot accept this then it is time to move on, it will only get worse.

Think about some of the decisions that make absolutely zero sense, let's cut the number of ZDs from 7 to 5 so they can have more customer interface and get closer to the field? Can someone please explain the strategic business rationale around this?

Let's throw 30 speaker programs against the wall and see what sticks.....who cares if there are no invites, missing speakers, etc... it's a spreadsheet to show activity who cares about results

Lunch budgets? What an absolute joke, you only have 1500, wait now it is unlimited, no wait it is back to 1500 and you have to document on a spreadsheet what we pay concur to do, more time out of the field to create a spreadsheet, oh, and we have never been over budget for lunches ever so let's create more confusion hysteria and wasted admin time on something that shows what? if you do not think your RD and ZD will be running ROI on each lunch then you better start thinking it, remember these are "suppose" to be educational only

Sales numbers are screwed up all over the place, but you won't hear a peep about that, but you don't make a call on a microtarget who is dead or heads up a weight loss clinic and you are on a plan, again need to show a spreadsheet that has activity

You can't blame the person in charge of sales, it's all they know......

My question is what are we actually accomplishing at the end of the year? More sales? NO we are just reworking the balance sheet to show more profit through a cut in expenses and a price increase. More engagement with our job? NO they do not care More patient centirc? that is a joke they only care about ROI

You better wake up people and document everything you are asked to do, when you have this many spreadsheets documenting money pull-through, ROI in speaker programs and we are smack in the middle of a CIA then somebody will take the fall

The majority of threads on the Shire board are about the dysfunction in the NBU. Sad state of affairs.

Don't they know we should be focusing on a launch instead of turning in calendars, sign in sheets, lunch budgets, agendas.......! It is way too much paperwork! I've never seen anything close to this crap here! Let us go sell and get out of our car every other week micro managing babysitters!

None of our "leaders" act as though they've ever been involved in strategizing and executing a launch. I think if they look like they are busy and having us occupied with busywork, when the numbers suck they can blame us rather than their own lack of talent. They better hope prices can continue to go up, and my docs like repetitive visits at the office.

    1. Leaders at shire are let go or muted... Kk effect!

    2. Vyv cost is way up in last 5 years... It's over $225/ month now...launched @150(?)

    3. Manage care rebates cost us s fortune, not to mention coupns on top of the rebate in easy commercial markets

4 morale at all time low

    This is not sustainable

All of this focus on activity and metric execution is a means to an end. They are pumping up the numbers to make this BU look high functioning and profitable so they can sell off Vyvanse. There is no future in neuroscience unless it's with another company. Rumor inside is they are in negotiations to dump us and remain a rare disease biotech company. This is why nothing is planned for long term, there is no vision and KK only cares about metrics. Ride this bus off the cliff and get your severence or get out now. But DO NOT trust a word out of PS or KK mouth.

Look at the 10B by 2020 plan. FO can't get there without Vyvanse it makes too much money for the company. They will never make 10x20 otherwise. Then again, FO won't be here they anyway, it's 2 years now and that is about his tenure everywhere else. Think its chaos now? Wait a few more months when the CBK positions can't be filled in LEX.

They have resorted to taking out billboards near Lexington to advertise they are hiring. KK and PS have also been "dangling the carrot" to the field of home office "opportunities." Opportunity for what? Uprooting your family only to be sold and potentially on the street? The whole thing is classless and shows how they are very comfortable letting people with all of the knowledge and those who built this company go while thinking a billboard can attract talent to fill the void.

These "leaders" blow dead dog dick!

Billboards? Really? I also love how all the new hires are executive reps and senior executive reps, with little or no knowledge of ADHD or NS. And now with little or no training on the actual science behind our product, and our ability to only talk about ae's, duration, and efficacy, it makes perfect sense to ditch the people that have a clue and fill the slots with title driven junkies....no fault of there own. End of the day, a pay checks a pay check, so let's cattle call them off the streets!

A cattle call is exactly what KK did since October with the hiring. It was a farce and no wonder we ended up with what we did. But, as KK says, "Trust the process and trust me." What a loon.

Shire paid for experience and since you are under a CIA for off label promotion, it seems smart that Shire would hire reps that not only know how to sell, but can do so in a compliant manner.

I could see your point if KK wasn't right at the line-if not crossing it-with compliance. The tracking (ex. roi for lunches) and other things else is doing walks a fine line. Also, many of us were not here at the time that Shire was doing the things it is now under the CIA for. There has been A LOT of turnover since then. Please don't put us all in the same category.

Makes sense if you believe understanding the science doesn't matter. It's easy to comply if you have nothing to say.

We had compliance and now it's all a joke. KK thinks she is above the law or is too stupid to know. She expects lunches In exchange of moving business, she tracks the ROI, she wants her ZDs to entertain and then hold them accountable. She is a walking compliance nightmare and PS is resonsible because he called off the wolves when they tried to correct her.

Please don't give us any lip service about how compliant things are now because that's a lie! She basically disregarded the practice of doing things ethically.

Many people have corroborated these claims. Wake up newbie. Just because KK called you to come over from B&L doesn't make her a great leader. Pay attention and learn something.

GSK, Pfizer, Abbvie, Novartis, Merck, BMS...are TRAINED on the science and clinical data. The training is a minimum of 4-6 weeks and doesn't entail role playing for a entire week. Training is focused on clinical data, science and the tests are pass or go home. They can deliver the science compliantly. These companies, unlike Shire, are so confident in the training that they actually TRUST their reps to use the FULL PI, the FULL clinical papers, abstract and Journal reprints. Shire gives you a PI with highlighted sections that you can discuss, CVA and "talking points" anything else is "off limits" and you need a ML to explain even if it's in the PI or clinical data?! Just stick to the CVA. There is nothing clinical about reading off a glossy vis aid.

Facts are, many newbies coming in way above 100k base, IC's are way more than 98% of pharma (8-20k, many near 30k this q), and the job is easy as cake. Sorry to the oldsters who didn't make moves to get salary bumps, and sorry to the folks that didn't get the job. Pretty great compared to just about anywhere you look.
