    Even with new pediatric vaccines to sell this year, reps are still looking to leave TL. He sure knows how to burn out reps with lots of special projects without advancing their careers or compensation. He just loves to talk a good game or give a good selling pitch but he never really wants to follow through and help anybody but himself.

    He really has no clue how reps operate on a daily basis. I wish the DCO had to call on docs for a month and see how much access they would get. TL wouldn't get past the receptionist.

    It couldn't happen soon enough. Even the koolaid gulping former S3's are tired of him. They finally realized that all the hard work and sucking up they were doing didn't get them any more promotions or compensation than those who just did their job. TL loves to take full advantage of people and make some lame excuse as to why he cannot advance them or offer them more compensation. He gets as much as he can out of people for very little. That's why upper management loves him.

    For a guy who expects so much from his reps and expects them to be aggressive with customers, he is a push over when he is talking to customers on field visits. He behaves like a coward and a hypocrite.

    DCO's and CTL's should have their own customers to call on too. They should not be paid 6 figures for holding teleconferences and meetings.

    TL loves to hear himself talk nonstop and he cannot get enough of talking about how great he is. It's truly disgusting to witness.

    What a joke! My CTL is so fired up about his r&f numbers. Little does he know most of our district has talked and we are faking calls because the campaign lists are completely inaccurate.

    We also actually go out and call on non campaign customers who actually are the ones who are ordering a lot of the vaccines. Headquarters is clueless and their data is severely flawed.

    The inaccuracy of the campaign lists is baffling. I have requested the same locations be deleted every single time there is a window of opportunity to do so. And they are still sitting there. Never been deleted. Closed accounts, duplicates, yada yada. It's a downright joke. 90%+ accuracy at this point? No way. Out of 30 locations on the list there are 7-8 still incorrect even though they have been flagged as so.

    Tom's incessant need to have all his reps to have individual business plans written out for each of their customers is baffling too. What a waste of time. Let your reps go out and sell!

    Does this buffoon realize that reps spend "sales call" time writing these biz plans?
    Does this yokel ever read them?
    And if he does read them, then what?

    Even if only 5% of the accusations about this man are true, he should have been demoted years ago.

    Years ago, I had a manager who would hand out useless admin assignments and then never ask to review them. About a year later, a bunch of us were commiserating after a meeting and discovered that no one had ever bothered doing his busy projects.

    Was it likely that this moron manager would take his team's mutiny to a higher level?
    No, because his boss would have laughed in his face.

    So, maybe Lyons' minions should just stop doing these biz plans and see what happens.
    Is Lyons going to run to his boss to admit that his "direct reports" are totally disregarding his stupid mandates? Not likely. Just a thought.....

    Agreed. TL is a TOTAL head case. He tries to act like he is cool and doesn't drink the Merck koolaid to the reps but to his managers, he is an intense micromanager who whines about the most minute things he thinks his reps do wrong. The funny thing is he is horrible detailing to customers out on field visits and he knows nothing about pediatric vaccines or public sector vaccine issues. The guy has no friends but he thinks everybody loves him. Not!!!

    I know there are people on this board who probably think there is no way most of things that are said about this man are true and it must be one or two disgruntled employees trying to make him look bad. One thing is for sure. Since TL has been the multi-specialty DCO for Vaccines (January of 2011 until now), the CTL's from Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Illinois have all stepped down from their CTL role to take other positions to get away from this guy. One CTL stepped down last year to be a rep which is rarely ever done in Merck. That is a total of 6 CTL's within 4 years. When you have a director lose a total of a half a dozen CTL's within 4 years, you know you aren't a very good director.

    Minus the MVPer award announcements, what a waste of a t/c. Shaming health care providers into using more G or G9 will not get us more doses - it will get us kicked out of offices. Tom, you are not a salesman so please shut up! Enjoy your weekend when you get there (So corny!). Mine started after getting off your garbage t/c.

    Tommy Boy is the Boy Blunder of the Vaccine Division. Even his CTL's make fun of him behind his back because his sales expectations are completely ridiculous. He has no business being a DCO in Vaccines.

    TL is having a management meeting with his CTL's this week. Reps, get ready for your CTL's to drown you with emails and meetings screaming about the need to grow Zosta and Gardasil, all while increasing those reach and frequency numbers. TL loves riling up his CTL's to get them to unnecessarily to ride reps hard when he panics over the numbers on a daily basis. The guy needs to go somewhere else.
