Managers are in the same shoes as the reps. It's a slap in the face to all of us.

Why would we hire primary care reps for thee roles? The skill set required is way above that of a primary care rep who only knows how to message and how to buy pizza.

It's time for nvs to go to model where 1 rep has 5 drugs. There is not enough access in the hospital s for this to be a full time job. Everyone , in the field, knows hospitals limit contact from reps to 5 to 10 hrs per week. Some 1 appointment per month. So nvs just created an army of part time reps.

Instead of having reps drive past each other on the highway, give them a basket of products. Onc calls on monday, derm on tuesdays hospital work the rest of the week etc.

You probably came from outside the company. You are mistaken, lilly, amgen, merck and pfizer all promote from within. They are kicking novartis ass.

Why waste time training a PCP rep when you can get a Specialty Rep with 1. Built in relationships 2. Knowledge of marketplace 3. Much higher skill set

Again, we shouldn't make mistakes again. Let's not put primary care reps in specialty roles. The skill set is much different.

What skills are you speaking of? The same skills our KAM's supposedly have?

Many of the primary care reps have skills that far exceed Specialty reps. Oh and here is a surprise many of us were specialty reps before Novartis starting moving us all around and screwing up our careers.

Oh really? Like what? How to deliver pizza much more quickly? Until you learn about navigating through complex reimbursement issues, true clinical selling, how to gain access to HCP's at hospital not just pharmacy etc you have no business even commenting here. PCP's are NOWHERE near the level of a specialty rep. If you were so good why are you still in PC? Idiot!

Easy Specialty guy...dont be so high on yourself. Calling on an Onc physician, a derm, or a hospital is no different than a PCP or Neuro...and this is coming from a Specialty Manager that has seen both sides. Speciality is actually a he'll a lot easier. Sorry to take you off you high horse

These types of posts are arrogant and self centered. We are all lobbying for positions within the industry right now. So to this poster I ask the simple question, how did you get to where you are today with your superior skill set? Were you ever a lowly PC rep? Who gave you a shot to sit on your thrown. I am not a PC rep. I have been promoted from within, but when these posts pop up telling people to stay in their seat I always wonder, who and where did you come from? Where you born in "Specialty" or Hospital with this "superior skill set". It's all acquired skill with experience driven learning.
