When is the DOJ going to investigate the other companies? The playing ground needs to be level.

Audits of all dme companies (well most) happen constantly. Orthofix had a culture of this sort of issue, I think we can all own that fact, and reps were out there falsifying hundreds of orders and notes. When that is happening, someone is bound to get nabbed sooner or later. And then an investigation commences which really dives into that particular company, looking through hundreds of cms and commercial orders and comparing those notes to the real office notes, etc.

Ha that is a good one. For many years this company made a practice of cheating the system, forging and doctoring notes, paying prescribers, billing hospitals and ORs for acute fractures and revisions ( that still takes place because the doctor gets paid on it), and now you complain about wanting a level playing field?

Well I guess it's just a matter of time before some of the reps at other companies are caught.

Drs do not get paid on hospital bone stim purchases. And what about the other bone stim companies who initiate hospital billing on acute or revised fractures?

Oh yes they do, when applied in the OR. All of the 'old school' ofx reps certainly know this, which is why so many estims are still being used for acute fxs, bunionectomies, revisions, etc.

Doctors get paid for implanting direct current bone Stims. Not sure how they would be paid for a DME device being placed off label during/after a surgery.

Many payer policies allow bone Stims as adjunct to revisions. It's up to the hospitals on how they bill.

What is the billing code for the doctor to charge for applying a bone stim in the OR?

No rep or MD is that stupid these days. This does not happen anymore. But companies still pay " consultants" - hired guns to promote their product to their peers and to over utilize.

Wrong. Not going to go into details, but doctors absolutely get compensated for applying external stims in the OR. hence the high usage for electric stims with acute fractures, bunionectomies, and revisions. Hospital pays for it, then insurance and the patient pay for it.

Your comment that you won't go into details tells it all.
