I always wondered that too…how the hell can Merck pay so many 6 figure salaries to people that either work part time, or sit around in their bathrobes all day, or hang out at the gym by the pool…

who ever posted this doesn't know what they are talking about. Hospital both CC and AC are key areas for Merck. Those of you who don't know what we do can chuck all the darts you want but we can run circles around you clinically, from a quality, trend, and any other standpoint you want to chuck at us. yeah, we may get in front of customers less frequently than we used to, but when we do…we fuckin' deliver…..

 

Yes, you can learn a lot of clinical info while sitting in the hospital's Starbucks (free WiFi!) waiting for some unsuspecting doc to come within earshot of you...or wander down to the pharmacy and poke your head into the window to say hello to same pharm. techs counting pills as last week..I'd say PC is harder with actually more work and oversight.

 

I might believe AC has some value, but the other
Group of tabs makes very little sense in the
Hospital market.

Now that reps are so segmented on who, where, when and how often we make calls (notice that the 'Why'' has not been included, no need to know why, reps are all in the same boat of working hard at looking busy.

.hospital call? pull into parking lot, sneak down to pharmacy, say hello to pill counter, the old pharmacist wearing his ID badge now from some national pharmacy mgt. company sings same story of hands tied to what's on or off..suggests you contact their corporate office 2 states over to get deal done - yeah right,, pushed that idea up the pipeline, no reply there. head to coffee shop and check email on free wifi,, hope to bump into somebody...see security guard amble in, turn chair and pretend to be busy reading your ipad....head home for lunch at 11 AM...maybe around 2pm stop by 'key' target's office for quick call of 'hey, how you doing?'

yeah…at 8:35 pm you "just exited a high level meeting…" hate to tell you dip shit but the lights go out in UG around 4 pm and this week - the last Thursday before the last summer hours Friday of the year…..hell, there aint no body home …. so take your high level meeting and put it where it deserves to be … with all the other high level bullshit we hear from all you "so fucking high level people"….. seriously??? are you kidding me?? There is enough respect for you all to fill a freaking thimble …… hey…maybe you wanna check your mvx before you turn in???
