They both sound desperate! If they LOVE Valeant so much why not buy Valeant stock?!! Leave the better, financially healthy company alone!!

Another attempt at diverting attention away from Valeant earnings. The fireworks will start once Valeant and Allergan announce earnings. The fun will start then!!!

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Billionaire John Paulson of Paulson & Co. said Wednesday that Allergan Inc. AGN +0.85% may be able to fight off Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc.'s VRX +1.98% bid for a bit but it may not be able to stand alone for an extended period. Paulson, speaking at the Delivering Alpha conference, also praised Valeant and said no other pharmaceutical company has done as much as Valeant to enhance shareholder's value. The hedge fund manager plans to have a conference call with Bill Ackman of Pershing Square Thursday on his effort to unseat Allergan's board. Valeant shares climbed 1.8% and Allergan shares rose 0.7%.

Let's wait and see where Valeant stands after earnings come out. Let's see if they answer ANY of the questions posed by AGN. It's doubtful that it'll be accurate.

Valeant wants to kill R&D jobs in the US to turn a quick short-term buck. Let Ackman and Valeant grow larger by destroy more R&D jobs in the US economy and you have the dumbest most short-sighted strategy in a global competitive market that I've ever heard of.

Paulson says Allergan is worth $220/share if the merger goes through. If that's the case and Pershing/Valeant are only offering $179 then doesn't that back Allergan's stance that the deal substantially undervalues the company?

No, because to Paulson's point, Allergan, as a stand alone is already overvalued... On an unaffected basis, the stock was trading at $120, so the 165 it currently trades at is reflective of the premium in a deal. Paulson Believes that the synergies found in a Valeant acquisition, and restructuring would lead to a value additive deal.

Hence, why he believes investors will vote for the deal.

Do you want to see your shares go up to a $220/share basis, or drop back down to the unaffected basis price of $120? that's the position he's taking.

Paulson is one of the only people out there that think Allergan is overvalued. Stop with the "synergies" pablum. There are NO synergies. Allergan is just a bridge to cover up our declining sales. Our acquisitions with Medicis and B&L have been a disaster. Stop kidding yourself and stop spewing MP's garbage.

Uh, that poster isn't clueless, that's literally the point of what Paulson said. Agree or disagree fine, but that's the position Paulson has taken (and he isn't clueless)

B&L is growing. The old leaders are in charge. The sales forces weren't cut. Thats why it's doing well
