As long as AP remains in control the company is not to be trusted. He has gone from distributors to direct to distributors to direct several times. He has even been know, as many small crap company's have, to carve out territory on company reps and distributors routinely for idle promises. He has a long history of incompetence but has the ear of the controlling stakeholders. Beware of this one! There are many other very good products and opportunities available without putting yourself thru the heartaches!

I came on here to see if anyone felt the same way. Agreed

There are numerous states and territories within these states that have both a direct LDR presence and through distributors as well. I specifically know of Biomet/Zimmer reps that carry LDR and Stryker Spine reps also.

I could not agree more with this post. AP is very questionable! Very surprised of his direction.

So, is this a good company to work for? I've heard of some open positions and would like to know if I should pursue, coming from diagnostic. Are docs using these products?

This is a do not touch company for employment! Very questionable VP of Sales and the direction of company is based on a very good two level option for cervical TDRs.
A niche company at best in the market place. I would not recommend this company for employment.

Can you make any money with LDR? That is the question. Everyone has it now. Kinda crazy two to five guys in same hospital carry it. What is that?

I have the line in the Southeast. I would sign the contract. After you sign, ask your LDR manager to get you the 4web line. They will escort your surgeon to the 4web conferences with LDR's money. If LDR questions you, just look at them with the "I just took it in the behind look" and deny it. Don't worry, corporate doesn't think it is a systemic problem.

So what's the latest here? Interviewing for a position and want an honest feel for the company. I have worked startups before so niche products, limited resources, and doing more with less isn't always a bad thing for me. However this mix between distributors and reps is a little different. How's that work? Chance to make some good money? Does having the two level indication really make the product stand out?

    Thanks

Everything you are reading on the thread is true from what I've seen personally. The best part is when you bring a doctor to the table that wants LDR. As soon as you do this LDR will carve this doc out and they will no longer be your account. They will say they have them on contract or something even though they've never done anything with them.

    Happened to me twice!

So I'm going to hop in here. I'm a pharma rep, want to break into device. I know I know, we are clowns who can't sell, let's get all that out of the way. But, for someone trying to make the transition, is it worth the headache? Also, someone asked earlier, what's the money like? I could care less if they play games with me as long as they're paying me. I lost my soul to pharma already playing their games, I just want to pay the bills and put food on the table.

60k base with 40 in potential bonus, 10% commission,

Don't go diect, find a distributor that sells other stuff, ldr doesn't have a full spine portfolio

only if you have other products. I had them but they are not a spine company! The blades will break and bend and then guess what? Mobi C cool if you get it approved.
Biggest problem is five LDR distributors could live in your neighborhood and three directs could be in your hospital. Not well run. Limited spine experience on the ground.

Totally agree, this is the biggest problem they have. They don't trust their distributor reps and you will be selling against yourself all day.

I would walk past the direct guy in the hallway while leaving the hospital. And the corporate folks will steal you docs!

Good products, terrible leadership sums it up. AP is running this company into the ground with his "vision" and no one can figure out why others won't question him on his cookie cutter approach (a bunch of yes men under AP). Stock dropped 20% plus last week as people are starting to figure this out and it's sad. I'm wondering when the Board will wise up and see that he's incompetent to run this company any further than where it's at?

If it's your true contact why don't you tell the docs to stop using LDR until you get the territory back? All that needs to be done is have your doctor call the manger and tell them no more LDR unless their choice of reps is behind it.
This type of corporate activity is easy to control. Get street smart and don't rely on corporate promises.

I bet! With upper management like they have, what do you expect. Those folks could tear apart an steel anvil with a rubber mallet.
