Sales are down, RSM's on the warpath, looks like layoffs!
Or will someone in HQ take the hit? JK is gone, will it be JH or SE?
No one lasts at this company, so who's next?

When sales are down, they fire the bottom 25% like they have for the past 4 years. Leadership is the issue, not the reps.

Not a lot of activity here. People must be happy working at Prostrakan. True?

    Stupidity, Ignorance, or Desperation?
What dumbass came up with the idea to restructure the IC Plan?
If it's stupidity, you can thank SE! Big Pharma Stupidity on a silver platter!
If it's ignorance, it must be JH! So Ignorant he doesn't even know he's running a Pharmaceutical company!
If it's desperation, it must be the RSM's! Never saw a more lost group, no hope, no brains, no clue!

Get a dictionary and look up the meaning of Incentive Compensation!
If you can't read or understand what it says, ask someone to explain it to you!
And if you still think what your doing is incentive compensation then stick your head up your ass and pray it all works out!

Q2 IC Payouts, what a joke!
Does anyone know how to set a quota at home office?
Maybe JH and SE have left prostrakan and they just haven't told us yet!
Oh no, no ones running the company!
Well that's nothing new, no ones been running the company since JH got here.
Phew! I was worried for a minute!

We are a few people away from having a great culture. Switch a few Steves around, find a new legal and HR team, and we are off to the races.

can someone please help me understand how searching for the 5th National Sales Manager in 5 years is going to truly make a difference here?

can someone please stop making the decisions from the old outdated pharma 101 handbook of the last decade?

can we recall the definition of insanity? doing the same thing over and hoping for a different result?
But 5 times????? this is beyond insanity. This is just stupidity.

Why do we even need an NSM with such a small team?? Has anyone thought outside the box and asked that question?

What about giving our current management team a true opportunity to connect and relate to the field force. Assign a vacant territory or white space area to each individual in management for just 3 months and hold them accountable for the sales in that territory. Perhaps at the end of the 3 months you will have a renewed perspective from which you can finally begin to make some decisions with clarity.

This is not rocket science people. Just some common sense which apparently is even less common these days.

    Dear common sense,
The average tenure of a NSM is a year to 2 years ANYWHERE - so not too unusual here! It would be nice if they can find the right one and break the trend!

Very true, Mr Common Sense that most if not all National Sales Managers last only one to two years in that position. The difference is that at Prostrakan, they are led out of the building in handcuffs and fired without warning, while at other Companies they are promoted or move on to a better job. The main reason why Prostrakan has had 5 NSM's in 5 years is simple. The position is not needed. If you guys can hire someone who sits in an office in New Jersey and can grow sales, please hire him. Because if the next flunky does not get out in the field and find out how this business really works, he/she is doomed to the same fate as all the rest.

    Thanks for the reply.

However, your comment makes my point. It's the same tired old thinking, and assumption that ALL NSMs have a tenure of only 1 to 2 years. And while it might make any short lived NSM feel better, please consider the likes of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, not only did they last more than 1 to 2 years they DEFINED their company.

I would suggest that the reason there has been so much turnover in this NSM position at this company is that none of them brought real value or were exceptional at what they did.

Can anyone who has experience here recalled a time when the NSM actually motivated you and made you want to run through walls to help patients with their CINV? a true NSM and leader would have inspired the field force... and would still be here.

Problem solved! Upcoming meeting in NJ. Role Play, Role Play, Role Play, and Role Play will thrust Prostrakan in the right direction. Revolutionary idea!

Such a sad company!!! Management has never been the problem. If they had gotten it at reasonable cost for the patient, maybe you would have had a chance. The manage care team should all be replaced. You can't sell what patients can't afford to pay for!!!
