No layoffs for Waterford. No more layoffs for Rochester. Maybe I'm totally underestimating the salaries of everyone in corporate but where is the $800m+ coming from?????

Yes dummy you are under estimating. There is a lot of fat still in arochester.
Waterford, in November you have 15% cuts across the board.
It is time that you all accept the inevitable, it will be lot easier to work after making peace.
Valeant is coming with a sledge hammer as one of their fat executives so proudly touts about.

Thats correct, I was at the same Town Hall Meeting and when asked about redundancys Mike Pearsons reply was that if Biotrue and the up and coming "Zeus" lenses take off as they're supposed to he can see no reason why there would be lay offs.

He also said that if they didnt take off then we're all in the same boat.
Irrespective of what CEO is in power in any company, if products dont take off and perform as expected then YES there will be casualties, not just Valeant

He also said he wouldnt be rushing into buying multiple lines to make lots of lenses until these new lenses proved themselves worth the investment but if they do prove investment worthy, he said hes more then willing to buy however many lines are required to expand production to consumer satisfying levels

I heard from a reliable source that Ireland will be relatively left unscathed after this takeover has finished.
The reason being is that the production lines are manned by already by a skeleton crew with very little room left for cutting it any further.
Lots of cuts were impliments by WP and theres very little fat left to take off.

Another major reason Ireland is relatively safe (Though not comletely) is that it has a tiny rate of corporate taxation - only 12.5% !!!! with very few if any other countires within Europe or further afield able to compete, thats why Ireland receives more U.S. direct foreign investment that Brazil, China, etc all put together.
Ireland may be a small country but they have their heads well screwed on when it comes to attracting foreign investment.
They were put under quite a bit of pressure from France last year about the corporate rate of tax and the Irish government basically told them to fuck off and that the rate would not be up for debate.

If there are cuts if 15% in Ireland it will be from the first line managers upwards that will be affected, cutting machien operators will means machines stop and no lenses made, hence, no maney being made and MP & Co. wont want that

Waterford is about to become the new Chernobyl, previously thriving community about to be hit with population cleansing, while surrounded by a poisonous atmosphere. The bells are tolling right now, implications about to hit home. Stay tuned. Say a little prayer for us.

Are there any numbers at all for Waterford? It couldn't come out untouched. McKinsey need to justify their costs.
