Keep hearing that all Pfizer PC clusters will be re-orged into one Eliquis/Lyrica bag by 2014. Heard it the summer of last year and and I am hearing it again. All other products to go to CSF. Didn't give it much thought till I saw the size of the Eli Lilly cuts. Can anyone with hard facts on this give us a bit of an idea if this is true and timeline. Would mean some massive layoff. I cover my family with health insurance via Pfizer and cobra would cost a fortune. Please, just looking for any truth out there...please don't answer with sarcasm or meanness. I know the industry is shrinking--just trying to prepare for the next 6 months.

It should happen! Spiriva gone, Celebrex gone, Viagra potentially gone whenever "22 Year patent" gets over-turned. Leaves slim to nothing in bag for PCP/IM - Flector, Chantix (minimal effect from promotion), Eliquis and Lyrica which are prescribed on-label primarily in specialty offices. Take the current PHR territories and one rep total per territory could manage effectively across the entire portfolio. The DSR alignment with zero PFE mirrored counterparts is perfect! Mega territories (double the size of CV DSR Territories) for Lyrica/Neuro DSR would be appropriate or have one DSR cover both CV & Neuro with E & L in bag!

BMS CV rep here. Sorry I don't have better news. It's all doom and gloom over here with much talk of a sizable head count reduction due to almost nonexistent uptake. Xarelto is expected to come out with three new indications this year alone. Take care of yourselves.

Doesn't make any sense-Celebrex is exclusive through 2015 Think they will just ignore that big win?

What is the health insurance coverage with our severance package? How long do we have it after the 8 week warn period?

6 months unless they change it.

It depends on your length of service, just like the severance payout

Not if you are a PHR/SHR/TSR/DSR. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't post

I also understood health insurance in place only for the length of your severance

I read in another Pfizer thread that CL 4 will get Celebrex and be ok for another year, CL 1 and 2 will combine into one unit with Lyrica/Eliquis and CL3 gone. Good luck.

Folks you will be ok if you are laid off. I was on last one. Pfizer will see you through!

The only way I don't know what I am talking about is if the severance package has changed since January 1st.
I was part of the last layoff and I can tell you I definitely DO have health coverage until December of this year. The length of coverage is based on number of weeks allowed by your severance...which depends on length of service.

    So shut up, you idiot

The OP is full of crap. Some heads may roll eventually in C1, but most of the pain will be eased by forced backfilling of open spots in other clusters w/ C1 reps. Eventually, as Celebrex is headed off to generic Heaven, the ax will come down on C1 but by then I think it will be a smaller slice than C2 last year.

The FF will continue to shrink, and I doubt we'll see any significant hiring over the next 5 years, and even then it may go contract (if we need extra boots on the ground). The industry is dying, albeit slowly. The key is too hang in long enough to either retire or find other unemployment (which will be a whole lot easier once the economy picks up... i. e. after Obama is out of office).

Be truthful; how much promotion does Celebrex need at this point in the lifecycle? I do not think there is much upside growth potential that corresponds to heavy promotion. It is so old I am personally sick of talking about it.

I just got 27 cases of starters-somebody that pays the bills thinks it is worth promoting

Yep, if you take care of Obama, he gonna take care of you, alright?

To tell people to "hang in there long enough to retire" ranks as the worst advice I've seen on here since someone was pushing interest-only loans in 2005 (I think their spouse was a realtor). This industry is like a diabetic that loses a couple of toes every two years or so. Look around you, every year one of our competitors loses a division, representing 800 reps and managers. In 2012 alone, tens of thousands of sales rep and manager jobs were cut.

I beg you, please read something other than our press clippings!
