Up coming LAYOFFS to be MASSIVE!!!!!

    This will be a bloodbath for the ages. My DM has nearly 30 years with PFE with many connections at home office. He has been warned by his contacts to be prepared as best as possible. Good luck to everyone this round.

    I too believe the layoffs will be rather large and deep for several reasons.

    1. Labor costs are a HUGE expense for Pfizer and the impact today of the sales rep is marginal at best with all the anti-pharma sentiment and more restricted access.

    2. Contract reps cost less and can quickly be increased or decreased depending on market conditions.

    3. The role of generics is gaining ground as more and more top sellers are losing theie exclusivity. Thus more expensive brand name drug better be really worth the additional cost.

    4. The sagging economy is driving patients to seek generics or simply not pay the higher co-pays for brand name drugs.

    Lastly, Pfizer knows they can incease your sales territory and you will be more than happy as long as you have a job.
