Everyone always believes it won't happen to them, until it does. The ones who were smart enough to have somewhere else to go, already have. Merck long ago ceased to become a destination job. It's really career entry level. Those left are like the little old ladies at the casino pulling the levers on the slot machines. Originally your personality for sales is a good fit because of your optimism. Merck quickly squashes that. Abandon all hope all ye that enter here.
The sh!t that now works at Merck are the nearing retirement crowd---who simply can't afford to leave---and the complete sh!t-for-brains that are the worst of what once was a pretty good sales force. Not any more….
I don't think they're bright enough to realize any of what's happening. They'll be genuinely surprised to get canned. "Never saw it coming…..sob, sob."
