quote from compliance online training regarding 2009 settlement and off-label promotion

"This is not the Pfizer we know"

REALLY AMY???? Are you sure about that?

That is THE ONLY Pfizer we know. That is the ONLY Pfizer the government knows. That is THE ONLY Pfizer state medicaid knows. That is THE ONLY Pfizer the American taxpayer knows.

You may be a good lawyer and you may have come from DLA Piper, but my gosh you are fucking stupid.

Amy has a tough job. She was brought it to clean up several different screw ups.
Pfizer got off easy with the 2.3 billion fine. Could of been much higher.

How tough can it be? She is supposed to be the General Counsel, and also begged her way into running an entire Division, Nutrition, I believe. No human on earth is talented enough to do both competently. There's not enough hours in the day and it's impossible to acquire all that knowledge and oversee all of the litigation and legal issues.

You'd also think these imbeciles would learn to stop promoting asshole lawyers to positions of importance like running the company, e.g. Kindler. Especially when they have ZERO experience at it.

Who's nuts or labia do I have to lick to get a million dollar job here in areas where I have ZERO experience? I'm serious!

That's the saddest thing said here in a long time. We paid the biggest fine in history but it could have been much higher. That really does say it all about Pfizer leadership.........

Yep...It's piss poor when the ceo & board can't discern real talent vs. a law degree.

This is called covering ass. "could have", well it could have been a helluva a lot less too. JNJ is getting off for a lot less right now and Risperdal's sales were 10x what Pfizer had, think about it! She's a typical shill of a lawyer who thinks she is smarter than everyone else, like her buddy Kindler. This is the prevailing problem that still exists in Pfizer today, people thinking they are smarter than they are, aka arrogance. Remember the infamous townhall where Kindler made every speaker say happy birthday to her beofre giving the serious updates? Pathetic. She needs to go along with the eurotrash, az trash, french trash, s/a trash and the wood u trash.

Not only that but she put us under the thumb of the Federal government with the CIA. We will never get out from under it. They will always find something wrong and then extend it.

If pharma leadership can't get their acts together soon the whole industry is going to crash into the ground. Then the federal government will have to step in and turn it around like they did so very successfully for the domestic auto industry (much to the dismay of the Conservatives - ho, ho, ho). Of course, no pharma industry leader wants the gravy train to end so we won't see this happen until they've squeezed every last dollar out of you lot.

Look, its not the industry that is going downhill and by the wayside because drugs will always be in demand and there is still a premium top be paid for innovative products. What is going by the wayside is pharmaceuticals sales because the people running the show for these companies exhibit the same disdain for the sales force as does the industry critics in the academic centers and government. These people tend to be elitists who have a problem with anyone who is successful but can't match their academic credentials. It drives the crazy that the market movers are sales people. Thus they are dismantling the entire system. The downside to this is that it will stifle innovation because it will go from a true capatalistic system to one of socialism and rationing. On top of that these elitists in Pharma are using the wily lawyers to promote "the risk" of sales people as another reason to get rid of them. In the meantime they pad their pockets and have figured their exit timeline to be safe to retire extremely wealthy while laying off the people who have made them millions in the primes of their lives.

These people are self-absorbed, self-centered and very dangerous people. One lesson I learned early on, work for people of solid character and when found in a situation as such, leave as quickly as you can to higher ground. In the US primary care, that would be now. Specialty or out. Plan now and take action, I have.

Amy is not stupid because she believes that "this is not the Pfizer we know"

Amy is really stupid because she believes that we believe that by her saying that about Pfizer, she must actually believe it, that "this is not the Pfizer we know"

Amy, come on. We all know that you know that this really is the Pfizer we all know.

    te hee!

What Pfizer management cannot seem to get through their head is that having a law degree does not qualify you for anything other than....practicing law!! It does not automatically give you the years of experience needed to run a business unit, it does not by default give you the practical experience necessary to make compliance decisions...in fact,a law degree will not even bridge the gap from being McDonalds top lawyer to becoming CEO for the largest pharma company in a highly regulated industry....but yet Pfizer management has somehow taken a profession that viewed in a very negative light by society and elevated it to superpower status...

It's the Board of Directors and the Pfizer Leadership Team that are just plain awful. Now they are scared to death of her and can't figure out what to do with her since she knows so much, see Amy Jenner. Cut her and she goes back to being a scumbag lawyer who can further ruin the company. Is it better to have the fox in the henhouse or out?

Look at the logic. The fine was equal to ONE quarters earnings. It was based on only what we screwed the govt out of. No jail for anyone. The share holders made record dividens and the top spincters made massive bonuses in part to illegal marketing. This is a risk that most would have taken at the time. It was a drop in the bucket and is why nothing really changed. I still want to know how my bonuses are figured out? It is like a shell game that we get 5 months into the year.

Did you see the new discussion video on intranet with F'DA and GG? More cuts, plant closings and "top line challenges". Meanwhile Read gets a huge raise. Wonder just what the iPad and data an charges of ELT minus one for last year was. Do they really need those iPads and international roaming plans to function? What about OWN IT for the gander?
