I believe I remember hearing JS say something about NSK's agreement with BUSA is a running 4 or 5 year agreement...and that is set to expire sometime soon. I'm sure Schein would be more than happy to battle Kavo/Patterson with NSK. Its a deal that makes a lot of sense, which means get out now.

The coo-some twosome mentioned above is apparently now a table for one. Something about a meeting @ the local airport? Anyone care to enlighten? Seems HSIC is beginning to assert themselves.

    Camlog

I am in the interview process with Camlog. Can anyone who is a rep for them tell me what a realistic 1st year income is with them? Also, how is this company to work for? Good and Bad. How do the products compare with market leaders? Thank you in advance for your input.

You will sell some systems to GP's and you must work hard to even get that done because there are so many 2nd/3rd tier companies competing for that segment. You will have a great lead-in with Schein and their presence in these offices. You will not have success selling to surgical specialists--I honestly don't know one that uses this system--they are not anywhere near the market leaders in share or acceptance. I could only speculate that the pay is commensurate with implant/surgical sales in other companies (approx. 40%/60% base/commision--range 75-125k overall).

the way they sell camlog these days is bundling other services/products that the dist. offers so it appears to be reasonable and of value
the implant works as well as many others however it s proprietary nature leaves it behind vs the clones and can't compete vs. the big guys

No true. I work for distributor and different rumor hearing. Charlie Chang selling Surgitel. His son, Ichiro Chang no longer work for family business and Charlie Chang's wife, Suzuki is retiring.

I say good bye to Surgitel. Too long delivery time, no one answer phones and the manager Mort is very shady.

The family family sold a 49% non-controlling interest in H-F for $180MM to Schein a couple of years ago (at the time of, and the reason for, the name change from H-F Inc. to H-F LLC.) I don't know how they do this without informing their shareholders. The Brasseler deal wasn't announced either!

Rumor confirmed by the Hu-Friedy Corporate Accounts guy at the Chicago Mid-Winter. Schein owns a non-voting 49% interest in Hu-Friedy. Wake up Patterson!
