Will Pfizer takeover any companies in 2013?

It's been since 2009 with the Wyeth takeover.....feels like another big one is brewing. Pfizer is cash heavy, especially with the animal health and nutrition spinoff. The success of Eliquis remains to be seen, but if it is a blockbuster, will BMS be the next one to get gobbled up?

Well shoot - I deliver pizza anyway, and my pasty complexion could use a bit of a tan - that merger could be just what the doctor ordered!! We could save the company zillions by delivering pizza to every lunch! And think of the tips! They surely would add up to be more than our bonuses!

They bought Nextwave and hired contract for it.

Pfizer is now so big that it will merge with itself....becoming one giant company called "Pfizer". When that happens, watch out, there will be layoffs..we certainly don't need to keep everyone from both companies! So, whether you currently work for Pfizer, or for Pfizer, you are at risk.

BAUSCH & LOMB is in the cross hairs. Sanofi and MERCK are also eyeing B&L.

I was told we're looking at a biopharma company called Peregrine that has a new lung cancer drug. There was some kind of mix up in a phase II trial that led to the company's stock going from $5 to <$1/share. Now it looks like the mix up has been sorted out and the drug may be a huge breakthrough.

That wouldn't seem right coming from Pfizer. I mean come on.. Why would they purchase a company with a break through drug, eliminate the sales force, etc. Pfizer has always done the opposite; develop its own pipeline, develop and recruit highly talented people and successfully launched ground breaking drugs to help millions and millions of people.
