The position primarily supports a number of Acute Care Reps in a defined area. There are a limited number of products you would sell with the focus being urologicals, disposable BP cuffs, and germicidal wipes; Medline's market share position in these products is relatively small. Urological quality has been and continues to be so-so, BP cuffs are good quality and priced competitively, germicidal wipe line is limited and is not price competitive however Medline recently acquired a company which should help expand the line and bring costs in line. I don't know enough about the manager to say whether he is good to work with but from my dealings with him he seems like a good person.

Annual income (including a modest car reimbursement) is probably $55K-$80K depending on individual performance and previous experience. Expect to have some additional out of pocket expense although not as much as an Acute or Sub-Acute rep. Benefits are just good enough to be competitive but not overly generous. Many other companies are probably easier to work for; Medline often looks out for themselves first, then the customer, then the reps. The position, IF you are able to succeed in it, is probably more of a stepping stone to a better position in 2-3 years at another company than it is a career.

Med line "reps" are thought of as dirtbags in the industry.
