After 6 months with Amedisys -- 6 months of never having enough or the correct supplies (they refused to order bandages the doctor ordered because they were expensive) and weeks of waiting for a hospital bed and personal emergency system, 6 months of lies, lies, and more lies how they were taking care of everything -- they quit us and discharged my husband without our consent or knowledge.
Today we were told they did NOT take care of hospital beds or personal emergency systems (contrary to what their social worker told me), but they had no answer, literally, for why the correct bandages were never ordered. They would not order gauze and tape because the doctor did not order it, yet they would not order the bandages the doctor ordered because they were so expensive.
If I have to buy the supplies and do the wound care myself, what good are they? They are
    NO GOOD / WORTHLESS.

High utilization of services cases are looked at very closely and discharged. More services means less revenue.

You have the right to contest the discharge if it is Medicare. I hope however your doctor gives the referral to a vna with a wound care specialist and is a non profit. Your husband and you deserve the very best in care and I hope your next agency demonstrates the care and compassion you should have been receiving all along.
