Just when you though we were having a grea year This happens. It's a good time to be working at BSX. Where are the good old Guidant days of caring for hard working employees?

Folks the RIF is mainly consolidation of plants that were acquired in recent company purchases into the legacy BSC plant network ... most of this was planned on from the time we purchased these businesses

threshold per employee in the field has been raised to $1.7million in sales for each field employee

Are you saying that in order to hold their job, a rep must be able to show $1.7M on the books per field rep? For example, a rep and a clinical would need to make $3.4M?

The good old days left, when BS got rid of the 20 and 30 year employees from CPI/Guidant days and kept the short timer kiss butts.

Do you know what's even more incredible. I heard the brilliant Sam Conway is talking about hiring his old buddy Chris Del.
    Absolutely incredible!!!

I don't believe that for a minute. BSX would never re-hire someone that they sued a few years ago. That would be ludicrous!

    From StarTribune.com

Guidant lawsuit alleges offer of 'bounties’
After a series of defibrillator recalls, Guidant didn't just lose market share -- it lost salespeople.

Guidant lawsuit alleges offer of 'bounties’

An obscure lawsuit pending in Ramsey County District Court appears at first to be a standard contractual dispute.
Christopher Delgado, of Ellicott City, Md., left his job as a regional sales manager for heart device maker Guidant Corp. in July for a new position with rival St. Jude Medical Inc.

Guidant -- now part of Boston Scientific Corp. -- promptly sued, claiming Delgado violated a clause in his employment agreement that prevented him from hiring former colleagues in the year after his departure.

Hiring CD would send a great message to the BSX team. Leave, violate your agreement (your word), and you're always welcome to come back! We were upset with you before and sued you, but that's water under the bridge!!!

No problem, people are 'disposable' and replaceable. This is the age of 'do whatever it takes'. No ethics, no morality, 'just do it'.

Oh, and be sure to remember to live your personal life the same way.......as long as it feels good, it is good.

If BSC was careless enough to hire someone with the low moral ethics as Sam Conaway, why would anyone be surprised if Conaway/BSC hired Delgado.

For those that recall, Conaway as VP of Abbott (and local Abbott IC reps) in collaboration with Dr. Mark Midei are an integral reason for the "crash" of the Interventional Cardiology market.

Its mind boggling to think that Sam has the ear of senior leadership. During his previous tenure at guidant Sam was an HR nightmare. We were happy to see him go. And then he gets hired back. Incredible.
Now he's trying to bring back another loser. Birds of feather.
Can not wait to see how this all works out

Don't hate the individual. Neither company gives a shit about anyone personally. Why should they give a shit about the company. Be happy that they, and you, can do what is best for them and their family. Ea's and non competes are caps to prevent fair market competition and hold employees down. Screw The Man.
